OMFG! Honda truck?

What with all of the Nissan and Toyota thing going on, I am sure that eventually we will have to wade through 100 posts a day on here eventually talking about this thing and why it is or isn't as good as the new Ford. I guess Honda saw the Hemi and figured that anyone could just make a dang truck and people would buy it.

I am not sure that it is going to be full-size, but it will be eventually. I bet a Honda truck would drive forever, though.

It's definately a different looking truck...

To me, it looks like a Honda Odyssey van with a truck bed on it. Same lines... same curves. I'm just not sure about it though...

The 2005 Honda pickup will likely be based on the successful mid-size underpinnings that serves as the platform for the Honda Odyssey, Honda Pilot and Acura MDX. What's unique about this choice is that Honda will use unibody construction, deviating from traditional body-on-frame design used in today's pickups.
There you go RockPick, it is based off of the Odyssey.

Since Honda doesn't have a V8 engine in its lineup, and it's doubtful it would create one for just this vehicle, expect to see the same Honda SOHC V6 used in the Pilot show up in this truck. This could change if Acura produces a long-rumored V8 for its RL luxury car.
Since they won't be making a V8 for this thing either, I would assume that this is only going to be a small to midsize truck and not Full size. Just a couple of things about them though. Since they are Hondas, how many kids are going to get one and rice them out with those stupid exhausts and big wings or something? And are they going to be front or rear drive trucks, since many Honda cars are front wheel drive? The article didn't mentions that. And if it is a front wheel drive, how would they do in the towing department?

I like the way it looks. But it's obvious it's a light duty truck.
