Terrorist in Freeport Texas ?
Frank,
My take on the wound is that it went through soft tissue, not bone. It sounds to me like it just grazed his shoulder.
I say 9mm vs .22 for shooting yourself without dying because nobody carries a .22 caliber handgun. How many times have we heard of someone being shot 10 times with a 9mm and being released from the hospital a few days later, expected to make a full recovery? The 9mm is great if you want to make a bunch of holes in someone, but it doesn't have impressive stopping power.
The story made me think of another one from a few months ago. A young fella said he stopped to help a stranded motorist on a rural Minnesota road and they shot him. He drove to the hospital and after a few days, admitted that he'd shot himself to get out of serving in Iraq. He too used a 9mm and shot himself in the shoulder.
As for you, Raoul: I found my T-50 star bit so you're in the clear

AjRagno, very impressive.
I admit I thought you went way too far out on a limb that time.
Funniest post in the thread goes to Bloomquist, it tickled me pretty good.

Whether he shot himself or not, he should not have been unarmed, especially being a security guard.
