It's about damn time.
I could smell it all the way up in Transmissions.
I asked the webmaster about making this a smoke free message board and he said no. But we'll just see about that. I'm going to the legislature and see about getting some laws passed!

If you get the urge to smoke just post this --->

(That's what I do now, virtual smoking)

Nuh Huh!!

It gets freakin harder ever day until you reach the edge of insanity.
Today is my 131st day without a smoke (not that I'm keeping track) and every day is a struggle.

I don't know how long you smoked for, but you will probably have cravings for as long as you live.

3 months is the magic number I find. If you can just go another 88 days, the edge will be gone and your success rate will jump 10-fold.

It's been just over 4 months for me now, and while I still have cravings, they don't make me crazy anymore, and some day I don't even think about smoking.

Get your belt, grab a steak knife, and go find the last notch in your belts - then go over an inch, and use your steak knife to make a new knotch. This is cheaper than having to buy new leather belts

Good luck - these guys here helped me lots, even if they think they didnt, they really did.

I am rooting for you!
If a weak-*** sumbich like "ME" can quit, then this is your lucky day.

You already know what to expect since you quit already, you have proven yourself before, you can do it again.

At least when I decided to quit, I was sicker than a dog and used that as a "head start.
You on the other hand are doing it the hard way, the honest way, and just saying "I quit" I know I didnt have the strength to do that. I needed to be on deaths door before I made a decision.

I almost started twice, and both times were when wife and I were having a nasty arguement. (I just turn the TV up now)

There a line I tell myself (one of the posters in my "I Quit" thread posted this, and it really helps:

*** long as you never have that first smoke, you can never start again"

I tell myself that everytime I want one, and it works.

Good luck and congrats for changing your life.

Hey, Congrats Hope it follows through. Just remember, it's one thing to say you'll quit, but another to actually quit. And, like my good buddy Dr. Phil says, no one cares about your intentions- they just care about what you've done.

Best of luck buddy

Keep up the good work, you can do it if you have the will.

My father reverted to the patches to try and quit, but he started back, and at one point he was actually wearing that patch and smoking too. lol not a smart thing to do.

Good luck.

Keep it up. I'm going on 11 years without smoking After 20+ years of 2-3 packs a day. The first 7 days are the worst.
Good luck

just remember your new mantra whenever you want to light up...
If Habibi can do it anyone can
If Habibi can do it anyone can
If Habibi can do it anyone can...

The first week gets rid of the physical addiction. The worst is the mind thing and figuring out what to do with your hands.

Good going Habibi, keep it up

Good going on the quitting smoking.

I have a twin brother who only needs one match in the morning. For his sake it would be great if he could quit.

Habibi,

Bet you never thought you'd wind up as a poster child(for something good).
