A San Antonio woman took her sliver 3000 GT to a repair shop here in town for some transmission problems.
2 weeks later she after repeated calls on its progress she went to the shop and the car was sitting in the driveway of the shop covered with dirt...still was not repaired but had an additional 190 miles on it. The 37 year old mechanic told her that it still needed some "diagnostic testing" and that he hooked it up to some equipment that added miles on the odometer.
A month later the mechanic calls her and says it will be ready the next day. That night the woman and her family go to San Antonio Raceway to watch drag racing. They notice a car like theirs making runs down the track....they began to root for it as the night went on.... Finally the owner went down to pit row to take a closer look at the car ... and there hanging in the ignition was her key chain, an additional 340 miles on the odometer and standing besides it was her mechanic
the car was in bad shape...
the mechanic or his attorney could not be reached for comments.,
he pleaded no contest to charges of unlawful use of a motorvehicle....he said it required a test drive
what an ****

It's an obvious open and shut case...
Which means it will be tied up in the courts for years...
It will cost HER money to keep the case active...
And, if there ever is a settlement her attorney will get most of the money...
And if there is a judgement against the slime-bag mechanic that doesn't necessairly mean she'll be able to collect, in fact when you win in court you usually can not collect....
Which means another lawsuit...
and more attorney fees.....
and on and on.....
Chances are all she'll get out of this is a messed up car and debt when her attorney tries to collect from her because the mechanic can't pay and has disappeared....
