I just love conspiracy theories.

The first one bascially says Saddam was captured considerably sooner - Like October - based on a pic with dates still on the trees.

I hate PDF files, but the second article basically says this: "Dates ripen in six to seven months, harvested from September through December."

Talking

Well, isn't the pdf file about growing dates in the US.
They are harvested September-December in the US.
However in Iraq, they are harvested in August.
As the article says, dates use a hot climate to grow.
I take it, it's much warmer in Iraq than in the US therefore the harvest will be a lot sooner.

I think your Intelligence Service focked up again by thinking dates are harvested at the same time all over the world.

Most important is that SH has been captured.

I will say it is odd how quickly he was aledgedly "indentified" as being him. One day, no news, the next day, he is captured, and possitively ID'd already. I think everyone knows there is more to that story.

If anyone finds any more info on the anatomy of a date tree I'd like to see it. I saw the aformentioned article about the date harvest in August. What I'm assuming is that there are different verieties of date trees and that there a multitude of them in Iraq and the middle east.

Well, this kind of goes to show that once again. Good news for America is bad news for them rascally liberals…

I am here to debunk the liberal theory once and for all. IF, this had the slightest bit of truth to it, and I mean the slightest bit of truth to it do you not think the Clinton News Network (CNN) and associates like ABC etc would be all over this like flies on chit?

It was a nice try by AJ with an “internet” article but “internet” articles are very easy to do by anyone, anywhere at anytime with absolutely no collaborating evidence to back it up.

Them rascally liberals are doing their finest to spin absolutely great news for America and its outstanding leader, President Bush, by taking great news and making it into something only Hollywood could dream of for motion pictures.

“Ohhhh we didn’t really catch Saddam when we said we did, we did it months ago and kept it absolutely secret from everyone, not one leak to be found, not one by all the liberal reporters reporting a very skewed picture of Iraq and what is REALLY happening there, which is it is going GREAT, the Iraq people love us being there and we are loved and appreciated by the vast majority of the population”

So, there you have it, it has now officially been debunked…

ok, I found some stuff......

http://www.arab.net/saudi/sa_madinahlife.htm

http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/EB15Ak03.html

http://www.chalomumbai.com/smd/eat/2...gust/60197.htm

a couple quotes....

"A tree can produce as much as a ton of fruit a year. The dates hang in as many as 20 large bunches, hundreds of dates per bunch. Although the trees fruit only once a season, the harvest lasts for months as the fruit ripens at varying speeds depending on where it is in the bunch. The center of the bunch, where it’s warmest and most humid, ripens first, so the dates must be picked from the inside out.
" - 3rd article

"Mary ate dates to relieve the pain of giving birth to Jesus. According to the Koran’s account, the tree was so beneficent that she didn’t even have to pick the fruit. “Shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm tree,” she was told. “It will let fall fresh, ripe dates upon thee.” - 3rd article, but I found this all over. I'm skeptical about the time of Jesus' birth, but if you're a diehard believer.

"Before the first Gulf War, 486 varieties of dates and and more than a million trees were fed by an exemplary canal system." - 2nd article

An internet article published on the "United States Marine Corps Official Website."

Get real. Not only are you saying that the USMC is lying, you're saying every news article on the internet is a lie

Search the USMC website for date harvest and you'll find the same article.

this ends my research on this subject, I've seen enough. Did a lot of reading and know a lot more about date trees now.

I think you misunderstood me. I stated that anyone, anywhere at anytime can write an Internet article, its as simple as that. It may or may not be an “official” USMC article however if you actually read the article it does not go into any detail about dates and what time of year particular dates may be hanging on trees.

It could be a true authentic article about a “particular” type of date and when harvested. In any regards I have “officially” debunked the “black helicopters are coming to get me rascal liberal conspiracy theory” and thus no further discussion is necessary or warranted…

Go to www.debka.com
It's buried a page or so down but they had an article on around the 18th Dec. that had some interesting thoughts.

Of course, the Israelis know exactly where the WMD stuff is buried in Lebanon and Syria so.......well so.
