hawkz28: You're trying to say an L is overweight? Z28s weigh over 3600 pds correct? That's way overweight for a car. I ask you why would anyone want to go fast in a car, or truck for that matter? Because its FUN!! That's what enjoying the fruits of your labor is all about.

No need to get all pissy over here. my Z weighs 3400 lbs, not over 3600. Thats with no weight reduction either.

I think this thread is pretty much done, anything more is just a pissing contest like stated earlier, so

I know waht you mean with the Mustang and camaro, but when you get up to the cobra, thats for the vettes. thats more around its power range.

i wouldnt compare the GT40 and the vette tho. The GT40 is like that Lamons stuff or whatever, made to run with the Lambourghini(which it was made to kill) If you were gonna compare them at least get that one old blue corvette the one htat was made to race with it

I dont remember what they call that vette, i just saw it was some race one from the 60's

PS. you KNOW that L aint stock, wiich I was talkin bout(stock)

The name of the Vette escapes me also, they were handemade to beat the (org) Shelby cobras. if my history is correct only 5 -7 were completed and only three are known to have survived. not quite a production vehicle, which is what I thought we were comparing?
since the Org. post mentioned the Inability to make a L get out of the hole like a Drag CAR, Why not show one.. "Sal please correct me if I am misstakin" 4700lbs., front in the air,and no bottle, HOw the heck is that not getting one out of the hole "like a drag CAR"

I have a 1997 camaro slp ss, I would love to trade it to a lightning.

I have had my ss since 97 and it has 10,000 miles on it, Its good for nothing so I dont drive it. I cant get any cargo in it, it rides like crap, and I have to double up just to get down in it.

Im a truck person and perfer the lightning 10 to 1 over the camaro.

p.s. I didnt buy the ss it was a gift, I wouldnt buy a chevy lol.

Because we can.

Look at ricer side of the import scene. We all wonder why they put a huge wing and stickers and ugly body kit's on the car. Because they can and want to.

For me it's because I love the look of the truck. I also like hearing comments like 'that brick goes how fast ', 'isn't that one of them trucks that goes 140mph?'

It's fun doing cone dodging, er I mean auto-x's w/ a 5000lb truck and doing just as well if not better then the tiny cars.

It's fun driving to the track, running 12's and then driving home. (10s and 11s in cases of others).

It's fun seeing the reaction of others when you take of from light with a load of stuff from Home Depot in the bed.

You're from south NJ, and I know the mindset down their is trucks are meant for jacking up, offroading and hauling/towing. And that's just how it is.

I should lift my truck and take it offroading, since it's not a real Lightning anyway...
