Unhappy Farewell to Ford

Well, I know I'm not an avid poster on this message board. I've enjoyed coming to this website and finding out cool things that has been going on with the Ford Community. But it is time for me to move on. I have decided that I have purchased my last Ford product. Ford has been good to me and it is hard for me to have to come to this, but many reasons have put me in this position. It's not that I don't like Ford's product. I think they make some of the best looking and most dependable automobiles and trucks. It's more on a personal level for me than anything. I'm very very close to the Ford operations and pretty much the reason why I'm chosing this path is that I do not appreciate the way affiliates of Ford treats people who work for them or with them. Just think about all the people who are going to lose their jobs in the upcoming years with the plant closing. But then you hear of Ford building new plants in other parts of the country. I have put my last dollar in Ford's pocket. I truely love my truck that I have now. I dont plan to get rid of it any time soon. But people of Ford need to make sure they understand something. And this may be something they have overlooked with all the restructuring and drops in sales. That thing is this. Even though Ford pays their employees well and make more business available to other companies supplying them, Ford only looks at it from their point of view they don't look at it like this. We are also consumers. We are the ones who keep the plants going strong. If no one buys a Ford Vehicle, where would Ford be? Who knows. It's got to change. Ford has to know that the way to handle a business is to treat it like a business. Not to play as a big bully who can beat up the little guy. Intimidation only goes so far. The way things are going, it wouldn't suprise me if Toyota or Nissan takes over the full size truck market in the upcoming years. Times are changing and Ford better change with it or they'll be left behind. I'll sit back and watch from an outside perspective and see what happens. I'm probably wrong, but there's always that chance and that's the beauty of it. No one knows, and I mean no one knows what is going to happen in the future
I hope all you other Ford owners out there have better luck than I have had. Maybe time will change my mind, maybe not. I guess only time will tell as they say.
Maybe Bill Ford will actually read this and just take a quick moment to think. I'm not bashing Ford. I just think that Ford is in a chaotic state right now with all the recent troubles that they have had and it's putting a lot of pressure on them right now.
I'm not going to leave this forum. I do not wish to. There's a lot of smart and interesting people here and as I say again, I still own a Ford, two actually. But I think it's time for a change. Good luck to all and I wish Ford the best.

as a supplementary thought to this discussion, you should take it upon yourself to talk to the parts suppliers to Toyota, Honda, Nissan et al.

You will find that the Japanese auto makers are every bit the bastards that Ford and GM are to their suppliers.

In some cases they can be worse.

Too bad to see you go. With that said I have to counter something you stated.
Ford has to know that the way to handle a business is to treat it like a business.
They have not made a bottem line profit in over two years. Sure they have made a profit but that has been eaten up in "one time charges" and other "unusual expenses" The point is they are attempting to treat it like a business and make it profitable.

If you think any other automobile company is any different from Ford you may be in for a bump on the head. (to wake you up).
Go ahead and stray you will be back.. good luck!

i just read this and can anyone tell me specifically what Ford did?

I do not appreciate the way affiliates of Ford treats people who work for them or with them.
Even though Ford pays their employees well and make more business available to other companies supplying them, Ford only looks at it from their point of view they don't look at it like this.
so they treat employees bad but pay them good, i bet 1/2 the people here wish they had that problem.

Times are changing and Ford better change with it or they'll be left behind.
But then you hear of Ford building new plants in other parts of the country.
i would think buiding newer more modern facilites was a step towards staying competitive, yet you are mad that they are doing it.

i can only guess that you are very emotionally and finacially attached to ford and there is something you can say over the internet.
