Yes, the 4-cyl is quite torquey, but there is almost zero different in fuel economy between the two and the highway power difference is huge. A friend of mine had a 4-cyl stick Wranger (dunno year). Would only go 75mph on the highway, 80 down hill. I am sure the new 2.5L is better, but that I6 is bulletproof. MY wife said she saw one being tested. It had a hole in the side of the cyl head and still kept going a while after that.
BTW, Cylinder instead of cylender.

Thanks for the spelling on cylinder. I knew cylender didnt look right.
thanks again, Shane
My problem is I can't type too well. My mind goes significantly quicker than my fingers and I revise my sentances mid-way without proofreading the whole thing again. I can spell reasonably well, but it isn't too apparent in my messages. Anyway....
Good luck with the hunting! I love shopping/researching new vehicles, especially for myself.

I found one!
2000 Jeep Wrangler - 5 speed
But it is a 4 Cylinder!!!
I love the interior and how it looks with the top off. I think that's the one if we can find it in a 6.
