Is that like being "white bread". High in Carbs and starches, and much worse for you than "whole wheat". That whole wheat is more like North Americans, a combination of all people.

I like whole wheat as well. The white bread is ok at times, but I like the whole wheat better...

I'd hafta say the white bread is much better for fresh tomato, mayo, salt and pepper sandwiches. I go "both" ways with peanut butter and jelly, but prefer whole wheat for turkey, ham, and roast beef.
Dare I open another "can of worms", but what about onion rolls? Umhhhhh!

Must be lunchtime, that vast empty cavity behind and below the ribcage and held barely in check by my belt craves nurishment. Off to stalk the wild interior of the frig.

Whole wheat has a much better taste and is definitely more nutritious. I save the white bread for grilled cheese sandwiches.

Sour dough is awesome!

Of course, I like "pumpherknickers," too.

On the bread subject.... there's nothing like "sweet potato biscuits"...... When we knew my grandmother was making them, my brothers and I would haunt the kitchen until they came out of the oven..........ummmmmmm..... butter on hot sweet potato biscuits is better than any candy or cookie on earth....!!!

Now that was back in the 60's and I haven't had a sweet potato biscuit since but I still remember them very well..........

Last month, I was visiting an older Aunt and somehow sweet potato biscuits came up.... and SHE KNEW HOW TO MAKE THE OLD STYLE just like my grandmother made............ I will be visiting this Aunt a lot more often now........

Since Bells is on the other side of the state from the parts I can reach in a day, the very least you can do is print the recipe for the sweet potato biscuits.
After all you were the one who brought them up, now you have everyone's mouth watering. *chanting, recipe, recipe, recipe.... *

Thumbs up

Just checking to make sure no one had been bad mouthing my Homeland. Read through it twice but didn't find any reference to Turdsmania.

If I ever did, I'd be all over you like flies on one of my Countrymen!

We use nicknames too.
I call my father's son from a previous marriage, 'stepstool'.

I can't believe you said tracks. You know that's part of what got all this American Indian relocation and land grabbing started in the first place. Damn railroads making all that westward expansion possible.

STEPSTOOL! LMAO

serotta,

you ever have just a nice fat slice of beefstake tomato on white bread toast with pepper and mayo.

thats gotta be on of the best sandwhichs on the planet.

plain, simple & awesome.

was just talking about them his morning at work, then i saw this thread.

we had a crappy bunch of tomato's this year in new jersey. too much rain & not enough sun.
