Do burnouts hurt the suspension when you go round and round like that? My dad says it does but I dont believe him

I know, my champers got all full of carbon. I guess that's what I get for burning my steak. *shrug* Oh well.

So, ok this is what I did.
I was stopped, then I hit the gas and turned onto a right angle. And the tires squeeled. And it felt good. And my dad says it hurts the suspension. So he is wrong? It just helps burn off built-up carbon in the combustion chamBers?

C'mon guys, Ford Lariat is just a kid.
No, it won't burn off carbon but it will burn off your tyres. $$$
You would be unlikely to damage your suspension unless there is already something wrong with it.

Always listen to your Dad and don't pay attention to Uncle Burt, he's being a very naughty boy.

Heh, EA has got it.

If you hit something, like a pothole maybe, while attempting a burnout it might damge something. I rolled a tire off my Buick Lesabre doing that. Luckily I just put the spare on and had the tire remounted. The other "potential" thing you can do is wear the pin inside the rear gear box in two. I forget what it's called exactly. I did that to my Dad's 1980? F150 by spinning it on the ice. One tire would spin at like 100mph, not good on the inner workings of the rear end. I never fessed up for several years but it cost my folks $1500 or so to have it rebuilt.

A little fun is ok, but too much can cost you big bucks. Don't tell your dad I said that.

Ehem, always remember that it's not only you on the street and someone can get hurt! (I'm a dad now, I can say stuff like that. )

My old pontiac T/A sounds like that, except it's not so squeaky under the hood.

Ford still rules
