If thats the case then we should all be banned from something, you are not really going to tell me youve never lost it when some one was taunting you? NEVER!? I wrestled in High School and won State my Senior year. You knw what happened? The kid that I beat Dad ran up to me much in the manner that idiot of a fan did telling me he was about to whoop my ***. You think I stood there? Hell no he went dwn in a firemans carry and stayed there until the opposing coach kicked his ***. If your going to go out, taunt a guy after he lost a violent game, his adrenaline is running, he is already upset, call him a loser and whatever else then you better be ready for some kind of retaliation and that does not in any way make that kid a wuss.

Being an Ohio State fan I have attempted to keep out to this one, but alas I can't.
Reynolds was dead wrong in what he did.He will continue to play..
Lets look at "sports" figures for a second.
Highest paid professionals around. Hell they don't even need a college education. Right from High School to a mult-million $$$ contract in the pros.
They are put on a pedestal and worshiped by millions of fans.
They can do no wrong.
Lets see, didn't Iron Mike bite off Evanders ear, and is still boxing?
Was Ray Lewis really innocent of murder or accessory to murder, and is he still playing?
Was OJ really framed? Where is he today?
At college level you have Reynolds, and oh yes, Mo Clarette will play more college ball, but not at Ohio State.
Then we have Lebron James who drove around in a brand new Hummer in high school while his mother didn't even have a job.
See where I am going here????
A sports figure can actually get away with almost anything, and be forgiven by their fans.
It is OUR fault they act like they do...
Marc

I hear what you saying but absolutely disagree. Yes there have been times I have been in a position to just what to whoop someone’s butt. However I did NOT due to “self control”. Some have it and others don’t. Perhaps because at a young age they were not properly taught how to control themselves. It is a sad thing because those without self control will usually sometime in life get themselves into a situation that is well above their head and could cost them their life.

It is NOT being a man to fight someone taunting you, it is being a child that has always had their way. To be a man, or adult one has to have self control and know when they actually have to defend themselves.

The only time I would ever attack someone before they actually attacked me or was attempting to attack me is if I thought my daughter was in danger, then a major crate of whoop *** would be opened up and underway…

There is absolutely NO excuse for what that moron did, he is a child and yet to become a man. Maybe someday he will…

Marc definitely has a handle on things with his observations and I completely concur with how WE have formed our society and how we now accept things that were at one time taboo.

We, as a society, must somehow stand up and say "NO MORE" to these persons who are always pushing the envelope of out of control behavior. It is sad, as you wrote Marc, that we, as a whole, have become accepting of most sports figures and their "actions" but I do believe that is more like them telling us "what ya' gonna do about it, sucka" ......... and we, as a society lack the where with all to do any thing about it.... we end up saying "they ought do something about that mess".........

I do remember a time as a young man, that I too would be a little hot headed at some things but I also remember that self control was also expected. I just don't remember ANYONE ever acting out like the punks you see today.

When you have a winner, you also have a loser but more and more often, the losers are becoming bad-losers and causing the blight of bad behavior to spread.......
