Not a fan of either team. Don't really care for Pedro, especially after he was pointing to his head like he was gonna throw at somebody else. It was sad to see Zimmer on the ground but in all fairness, he had no business going after Pedro the way he did and he suffered the consequences. It was still tough to see the old guy on the ground. Do away with the designated hitter and some of these guys might think twice about going headhunting knowing they have to stand at the plate.

Long suffering Red Sox fan, 27 years.
Pedro was wrong, the Yankees knocked him around in the forth, got the lead, runners second and third with no outs. You need to put a runner on first to set up the double play.
How you are suppossed to do it is four pitches in an intentiional walk. How Pedro did it was first pitch at the batters' ear.
Then Pedro backs it up with his gestures.
I don't understand it.
Hopefully, the bats will wake up and he won't be a factor in the rest of the Series.
He tarnished it.

This whole affair is a great example of why I am a fan of the National League and not the American League. There is no DH in the National League and the pitchers have to take their turn in the batters box.

They know if they pull a stunt like the Sox pitcher pulled they have to face the opposing teams pitcher the next time around.

Zimmer should not have charged Pedro swinging and that part of the whole silly mess would not have happened. At 72 years old he should have known better. After beaning the batter Pedro should never have acted like such a stupid punk and this years playoffs could have remained a respectable affair. Bean ***** are part of the game, Martinez's actions afterwords are not.

Maybe next year the players can simply bring hockey sticks to the game and the grounds crew won't even have to worry about putting down the bases. And people wonder why baseball is losing fans?

Just my four cents worth.

Gotta go with Gator on this one. If Pedro had any clue what it felt like to get pegged with a ball he would definately think twice about it. Maybe it's time for a Yankee's batter to send a nice line drive right back at him.

Just putting my self in Pedro's position. Here come Zimmerman out of a crowd and tries to tackle me. I move as quick as I can to defend myself. I don't think that this is a 72 year old that has a head that's been used for beanball practice while he was in the majors. I just do what comes natural, I grab his head and use his momentum to drop him to the ground. I don't turn and jump on him, I don't kick him, I just walk away after that.

If Zim had kept using Preparation H like he does in the commercials, he wouldn't have gotten ants in his pants and charged the mound in the first place.

BTW, I am a Yankee fan, have been since I was 6 and went to games at Ebbet's Field, the Polo Grounds, and Yankee Stadium when you could still see the monuments in centerfield.

I saw Zimmerman’s apology today on TV, damn that just breaks your heart. The only one to stand up like a man, and he is the elder. Just goes to show there is a lot to learn from the elder in society.

I tell you what Pedro had better come out with an apology or he is really going to look like a loser…
