I hate Chevy and Dodge because I hear so many of their drivers downing Fords and flat-out making fun of me because I drive an F-150, eventually over time, it just got to me, and now I associate the trucks with the penises who drive them. (Not all Chevy and Dodge drivers are penises, but the ones that are ruined it for me). Here's a short list of other things ruined for me like this (including but not limited to):
University of Tennessee Football
Dallas Cowboys
Pepsi Cola
lifeguardjoe
The Matrix
Any song by any of the `The` bands
The Lord Of The Rings
Creed
Kurt Cobain
Washington Redskins
New England Patriots
(almost) Saturday Night Live
Macintosh Computers
Linksys Routers
DSL
etc...
Anyway, point being, just some people who were bad fanatics ruined it for me when I was very young and impressionable, and now I hate every truck made other than Ford. Yeah, I understand that I may have the opposite effect and make some kids hate Ford, but screw them if they don't like Ford trucks!

Since you mentioned towing earlier I just want to tell you that we have had zero problems towing with our 2001 F250. We use it to tow our 26 foot enclosed trailer to NMRA races with our Lightning (& now golf cart as well) inside. We go to races in Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Jersey & Illinois. We're even thinking of going to the races in Florida & Georgia this year. Our 250 tows the trailer like a champ. It always moves smoothly (even when we lost not 1 but 2 wheels off the trailer, on the same side) & makes for an enjoyable trip with a comfort factor off the scales (even when I was 8 months pregnant). We are thinking of trading the 250 for next season but for a diesle Excursion. Hubby likes the diesle towing mileage & the extra cab room for when we want to take friends & family with us.

Nearly all of my friends own chevy's and their family owns all chevys. I can say that i have only heard problems with chevy cuz thats what i am around. Friend's: dad's silverado went threw 3 tannies because he said its bad to put it from drive straight into park? i find that odd. other friend's:mom's suburban has been to the dealer 5 for somthing wrong in the tranny/rear end. My friend's brother's s10 and another friend's s10, both of witch the interior breaks when removed (talking about the plastic door sil at the bottom of the door opening) And to add we are a all FORD family. When my dad bought his first ever CHEVY vehicle being a silverado in 98, he owned it 22 hours before it was completely totaled. Not saying that a ford would have prevented it, its just one of those things like not going out dirt bike riding during memorial weekend when previously you had boken the same collar bone 3 times 15 years apart in the same weekend. I like my new ford and cant complain, i just like knowing that my tranny wont die on my from not going into N for 3 seconds before i move it to park.

No such thing, he must just have a lemon. I don't have that problem with 117k on my Chevy truck and I've never heard of anyone else having that problem. It's only bad to do that if you're still rolling and throw it into park.

Tell him his Chevy is a lemon.

I know what you mean about the interior breaking when you remove the door panel. I had that problem with all my late 80's, early 90's GM cars that used barbed fasteners. On my 99 Chevy truck, GM ditched the fasteners and used door panels that fit into slots, so now they don't break at all and you can remove/reinstall them a hundred times without wearing them out. It wasn't so much a Chevy/GM problem, because my 86 Mercury Sable was worse - barbed fasteners AND brittle hard plastic door panels so not only did it break around the fasteners, but the door panel sometimes cracked. I don't think Ford changed the way those door panels were installed until the 92 redesign. Anyway, breaking door panels was a problem affecting pretty much all American cars of that era.
