Odin's Wrath:

You’re absolutely correct, they all use speech writers, so if it were true about the IQ’s it would have been the IQ’s of the speech writers. I knew something was screwy about it when the “report” mentioned something about using public speeches as a means to measure IQ…

B-Man:

Good catch, I don’t think serotta posted it knowing it to be false. I bet Aj feels a little funny biting on something so quickly without thinking it through…

I got the impression that speech writers did not come into play on the grading of the Presidents, or at least their contributions were minimized. One of the comments in the original article, and on the website mentions "unscripted" speeches. Certainly any method of gaining an IQ is questionable, even written tests, administered in a closed environment. The website also addresses this point in it's lonely comparison to Carter being the only President that voluntarily submitted his tested IQ.

I don't take much stock in IQ's, I spent too many years in the education profession watching students with brilliantly high IQ's accomplishing nothing, while those with average or below IQ's going on to be very successful business leaders, etc. (It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that produces a winner!)

I'm staying out of this one - Raoul made me laugh, that's all that matters.

Even the Associated Press bought into it…

Serotta:

I think we both called it right off. I thought it to be bogus because of the “measurement” used to determine ones IQ level. Much more to the test for IQ then speaking, and speaking has absolutely nothing to do with IQ, nor does the words one uses in speeches and their normal day to day conversations with one another.

You called it by the fact you, in my opinion, had already suspected a problem with it based on your question about “who” funded this research. Now we know, the democrats did, or at least had a part in its publication onto the web.

Some others already suspected a problem with it, while another jumped right in and bought it hook, line and sinker. B-Man was the one to ZAP it from reality and show it for what it truly is, a group of people trying to bring down a fine President and once again ol’ George got em, and got em good…

We have had only 4 brave and wise Presidents in the past 40 years. President Kennedy (the bay of pigs), President Reagan (ending communism, tear down this wall), President Bush Sr. (kicking Iraq’s *** out of Kuwait) and President Bush Jr. (taking it to the terriost, and taking out one of the main leaders Saddam).

Those four men are extraordinary, brave and wise Presidents, the rest where just kind of there hanging out, being ordinary…

As a side note, if President Kennedy were alive today he would be considered a moderate to conservative Republican, one of the main reasons is the man was indeed smart and loved tax cuts. He knew tax cuts grows the economy and brings more revenue into the federal government and every time it is tried is always succeeds…

Could you imagine any Democratic President today speaking these words:

Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country

Now that is Republican at its finest…

Cool

You know, I don't mind people having a little fun and poking fun at the president, but enough is enough.

If you are gonna lie to people, at least make it a good lie that is somewhat believable by your average Joe...

01XLT Sport - I can't believe you left good old "Slick Willie" Clinton off your list.

Why, he invented the one and only "Honey-Dipped" cigar !!

I still can't believe he married Hillary...

Biting on what? The IQ test? I don't need an IQ test to know that Bush is a complete moron. I didn't even refer to that story. I just pointed out the stupid things, Bush does and says on a daily basis.

As for the photos; Yes, Bush did indeed sign several flags. He did so because he thinks he is a dictator. Yes, he also used David Letterman's producer's jacket to clean his glasses. What a very classy, respectful move.

It's clear to me that, Bush, through his actions and words is indeed stupid. If you think he's such a great man, prove he's smart

Finally, we have hard evidence of WMD: "OMG!!! They hid botulinum in a refridgerator for the past 10 years!!! He could have given 100 people diarrhea for a week!!!"

You know, Dirty Harry said it best.

A man's got to know his limitations.
I think Bush does. There are responsibilities of the job which he cannot dodge that require skills he does not have in spades. Public speaking is not his strong point. I doubt he will ever write the great American novel either. He does know how to delegate authority. He's surrounded himself with capable people and seems to have an ability to see what is important. The future. Everything he is doing now has a payoff somewhere down the line. Some of the people in this country have gotten used to the quick fix, what can we give them to tide them over for a while attitude of government over the last 30-40 years.

It's easy to nit-pick. There's never going to be a President that can avoid being a target for the opposition due to his own perfection.

Well you are in the very small minority of people who has a false belief that there never where WMD. I guess if it helps you sleep better at night to ignore the facts then the more power to you.

I however like to operate on reality, and that means accepting the truths of life, like Iraq having and using WMD’s. As I have stated before, its not just me that believes that but the entire United Nations delegation…

You need to get past the hate he is your President and will be so until 2008…

Well lets see, first he got elected President of the United States, no moron can accomplish that.

Second he took office and assumed Clintons recession which slowed the economy and caused many job losses (thanks Bill), he then had to deal with 911, seems the terriost got very brave through 8 years of Clinton (again, thanks Bill) that slowed the economy even worse then the Clinton recession.

In less the 4 years President Bush now has the economy coming back to life, mostly due to great leadership (people feel safe) and to implementing a program that everyone, well with an education, knows ALWAYS works every time it is used which is tax cuts. It puts money in working peoples pockets, it cause investments in capital equipment (for producing things) research and development (for producing future products) and thus causing new jobs.

That is a win/win situation, more jobs, more money in working people’s pockets and MORE federal revenue due to people making more money and more people working.

You see the one program that always screws up the economy is tax increase practiced by liberal democrats. It always fails, never has it worked. Clinton took what President Reagan had given him and completely blew it. President Bush Sr. didn’t really do much, but any how Clinton took a roaring economy and basically busted it with all his give-a-way programs.

Be very thankful you have such a smart President in the White House that was able to save the economy from disaster, due to Clintons recession combined with the 911 attacks.

You don’t have to thank him, but rather keep the hate to a minimum since he is in large part responsible through his actions, and leadership responsible for you to have the opportunity to put food on your table for your family…

President's IQs

President Bush is the man who has guided our country through the singularly worst time in our history. We have never been attacked in such a manner and hopefully we will never experience anything close to it again. No, President Bush IS NOT an eloquent public speaker, but that is not what matters to me, you, and the people we love. What matters is the fact that he IS smart enough to take decisive action to ensure that we don't get attacked in the same way again. The actions he has initiated have, and will continue, to take fire from the opposition, but I among most others are damn glad the actions have been taken.
I cannot imagine, nor want to, what would have happened if Algore were in office on September 11, 2001. The thought chills me to the bone.
I was in the desert, helping take the fight to Iraq, for 7 months and would do it again to ensure that no more Americans have to die needlessly like they did a few years ago.
Say what you want about President Bush. I'm damn glad he was in office. I stand behind him every day and am proud to do so.

Wow, I'm shocked! I had the Bushman figured for a LOT lower IQ. Maybe the frontal lobotomy actually HELPED?
