Exactly! Willie, Hank, Waylon, Charlie, just to name a few, Alabama (they've got some good ones) Kentucky Headhunters and there are a few newer ones I like too...

While I don't agree with what the Chicks said, I also don't agree with all the bad press they are getting..I mean, whats the difference if you or I said what they did?....Why boycott them?..its all just freedom of speech isn't it?....maybe its just me, but i dont think its that big of a deal....

It's rumored that abroad they will not be the Dixie Chicks, they will be Chicks w/ Dcks.

Yes what they said is freedom of speech. And for the voice of the country to be heard a boycott is also freedom of speech. Not that I had to boycott them. That's not my kind of music.

wittom is right on the money, freedom of speech goes both ways. It is not a one way street. The Dic*ed Chicks said their piece and many of their fans and the country said their own piece.

Thumbs down

I think they are jumping on the Britney Spears and Christine Agulerra band wagon....the don't have the talent or the bodies to do that. Seems that the new thang for chicks these days is to bare it all and shake what they got. Looking pretty and thrusting hips is what the talent is all about today....and kissing each other. Now if the dixie chicks did a threeway on stage with each other I'd pay to see that. But I am not buying any music from them. Freedom of speech is fine. But to go to a foreign shore and speak out against your President is just wrong. I don't care if they are Country or POP, they are screwed in the head.

I agree with you to a certain extent and, you're right, they've been getting a lot of bad press and they are exercising their 1st amendment rights.

But, with that in mind, so am I. I didn't like the image and statements that were made and I'm speaking out against them.

You're right on with your statement but, it works both ways and, it has been blown out of proportion.

Rock Pick...you are correct that freedom of speech works both ways...I guess I forget that sometimes because it doesnt seem "fair" when people get bad press etc. call it contradictions in terms in my mind or something, but you are totally correct that the press they are getting, boycotting etc. is what we as Americans can do or say against anyone

I definately agree whole-heartedly with you stang. The media is to blame for a lot of what's wrong out there in society in my honest opinion. I've always thought that we, as Americans, should hold them to higher standards. *shrugs*

Outlaws? You mean I'm not supposed to live like this?

I forgot about old Charlie Pride. I had a few 8 tracks with his music.

Man, a car load a women, a case of PBR, and country backroads, kind a makes me feel old now thinking about them days.
