Is your posting like your Personality?

I was thinking about this on my way home from work today. I don't even remember what made me think about this.

Is the way that you post on here and other sites characteristic of your personality?

There are several different types of posting that I see and often wonder if that is how you would respond to the post of situation in real life. The type of posting that I am talking about is like when people, not only from this site but all of the sites, respond to a post and it sounds like they are trying to sound different than what they really would. Then there are people who always post cuss words and stuff, and people who try to sound tough. And then there are the people who try and answer the posts the best they can and sound like nice people. It could be that people are opposite of what they post, and then again maybe not.

As for me, I am pretty much like the way that I post. Calm, easy going most of the time, but can get riled up from time to time. I try and answer posts or create threads the way that I would really do it in real life. Just like this thread has taken about 10 minutes to write, because I want this to be a good thread.

It was just a though that I had so don't worry, I am not writing this to flame someone from a previous post or anything. I wasn't even at a computer when I thought about this. I was driving down the road listening to the radio.

I think that this could be a better way for everyone to know each other better.

Thats Something!!!!!

ok, some background info. In B-Law when someones say's something new or original they alway's say "is it me or something" If you think they are crazzy you say "its you" if their on to a point or make a lot of since, you say "thats something"

I've thought about this also. I normally havn't been posting a lot lately, but I alway's try to help people, but just as everyone else get irritated at people and some of the remarks they say. Since its the Internet, I believe very little of what is said unless I've confirmed or done some research on the topic. Its so easy to lie and cover up things on the boards. Guess you really dont know until you meet someone in real life, or visit with them for some time on the Net.

Girls for example, I have meet over the net and when in person, can act totally differnt. One was all nice and smart, but when in real time situations, couldn't seem to think on her feet near as quick as on the net.

For some reason, when I see a persons real life pic on the net it seems to,,,,(not calm me down, but realize they are a human) and I seem to relate to the person easier or in a better fashion.

I think some of the debates in the GD discussion are good, they provide people with a means to think for themselves and question thier own thoughts before yelling them out.

Ok, guess I've said enough, on to the next person.

Interesting.

It's like Popeye said, "I am what I am"

If you met me in real life, I don't think I would be too different to my posts.

Funny, I've spent the last 55 years of my life thinking. Thinking about finishing school, thinking about how to do my job better, thinking about world events.... and it goes on and on.
I've spent the last two years of retirement trying not to think, just do it, and enjoy it for what it is, whatever it is.

This board has been good for me, it forces me to think and enjoy it as recreation rather than a means to an end. You can't login here with finding something controversial or thought provoking. In just a few minutes of reading this board and the posts, you are exposed to ideas and discussions from all over the country and the world. A much wider viewpoint than I pick up at the local store, barbershop or golf facility. The magic of it all is the F-150 connection.

Getting to the original question, (ha, you thought I'd gone OT and would never be back, right?) because of my life patterns now, I may not be the same person in real life that I am on these posts. I'm the old guy drooling on himself in the corner of the post office, trying to get enough of it on a stamp to pay my latest bills. The same guy that doesn't have a thought in his head other than the cold beer waiting for him in the refrigerator when he finally finds his way home. Uhmmmm on closer inspection, maybe I am the same in both places.

Thumbs up

I post the first thing that pops into my head.
Go figure.

If you don't believe me just ask my goats.
(Some of them can't talk but, will provide a written response)

I try to be more polite online. I can be a little harsh in person (my boss tells me that all the time, then laughs). If I'm going to post (especially in the L forum, no offense) I make sure I'e got all my info correct cuz I know there are people who are just waiting to chew you up for the smallest error.

I'm a bigger ahole in real life than online.
When I'm talking to the ladies online, I tell them I look like George Clooney, and I weigh 210 pounds, I dunno why I lie like a cheap rug, but damn it feels good!

Interesting. Generally I post how I would speak in person. The only difference between posting and in real life:

1. Spelling.
2. I make many many facial expressions.
3. Being full blooded Italian, I talk with my hands every chance I get.

I post how I talk, except I use facial expressions a lot in real life, which a lot of times don't come out on this board, which lets people misunderstand me sometimes...... I'm easy going though, not very easy to rile me up
