Degrees???
I received a BS in Chemical Engineering from UCLA and work in the environmental field. Used to work for an aerospace firm trying to keep the pointy end of the rocket up and the hot end down! Pay was great with great on the job bennies, but the hours sucked. Now I'm a consultant to the government assisting in environmental compliance.

I have BSEE and MSCS from Loyola Marymount University.
My engineering/computer science degrees have allowed me to travel the world on my employer's nickel, earn a six figure salary, and I live in Santa Barbara. I will be able to early retire at age 55 on a very comfortable pension.
It's all about comittment. If you put the effort into getting the degree and then career-long continuing education, you can do well. But, many do not realize how hard it really is, and are unable/unwilling to make that comittment.
