My baby was stolen...

Hey guys, I haven't been around for awhile because I was without computer but just got a new one. (this is my first post in there though) Matter of fact, got it just in time to get back on line and let you know my baby (sorry, the Mustang) was stolen Wednesday night right out of my own driveway. (it's on my link BTW) I went to bed at 11:30 and she was still there and got up at 7:45 Thursday morning to find and empty spot. The CHP found the car abandoned around 9:00 and she was stripped clean. Interior was completely stripped and the dash was thrashed. All the wiring and everything was just butchered. Everything was gone, gauges, shifter, seats, brand new Optima battery, everything. Engine was stripped clean down to the block. Everything from the nice Edelbrock heads and up. Even took the strut tower brace, radiator, A/C, you name it, picked it clean. They were nice enough to leave the wheels and tires of all things. Only body damage was they ripped off the rear spoiler and poped the lock out of the drivers door which you know what the door looks like after that, and a small dent on the drivers fender. Based on the book value, we think it will be a total loss with the insurance company. I'll find out Monday when the adjustor comes.

Just moved into a brand new neighborhood in Sacramento too. Who would have thought. You work your a$$ to have nice things and be able to live in a nice neighborood where you feel safe and what do you know. They reach out and touch you there too. I honestly think I have more sympathy for murderer's than thieves. Some people don't deserve to breathe the same air I get to.

There were actually 3 hits in my neighborhood this week. One other on the same night as mine so if anyone is familiar with the Natomas area of Sacramento or knows anything that might help, drop me a line, please. Thanks guys, just needed to unwind with some people who would understand. I know you guys alwasy offer support for stuff like this so you don't have to reply unless you want to. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your car. Do the police have any clue to who could have done it yet, or just a random act? Some people are just pure scum. And if the people responsible get caught, they should NEVER be let out of prison. We do not need these people on our streets.

That's the bad part about living in a nice neighborhood, the dirtbags look at it as if it were a mall. They drive from their rat infested holes to our nice neighborhoods and take what we work for. In the area I work most of our burglaries/thefts are done by dirtbags who live in the slums.

Set up a neghborhood watch program. The first one to go on a given night, alert the neighbors, and when they try to take the second one, they'll get a nice surprise by the owner who are waiting with a shotgun. Sorry to hear about your car, man, hope the insurance place totals it for you so you can at least getthe money.

Hey 1depd, that's pretty funny, but sadly true. The police have done a total of absolutely nothing. Matter of fact, I have yet to see or speak to a cop in person. They took the report over the phone, the CHP called from the crime scene to tell me it was recovered, and no one has called me about diddly squat since then. They didn't even want to see or print the car. Car was recovered...there done...As far as that goes I don't know what to do. I keep trying to call and talk to a detective in the auto theft devision but no one's ever there and they never return my calls. It sucks but looks like I've got to suck it up. I sleep at night knowing that scum like that will have their day...someday. I can only hope I'm there for it.

Dman, that sucks.
Good luck getting the 'fair value' for it from your insurnace company. Bad enough you get vicumised once, then the insurance claims adjuster wants to stick it to you , too.

Too bad Cali doens't have conceal n carry. I'm of the set of mind that I'd wish I'd catch em' stealing my property. They get a nice wakeup call real quick. Keep on, I'm reloadin'....

That does really suck!

I had a car stolen years ago. The cops did absolutly nothing. People I know said they saw it all over the city. I ended up finding it myself three months later. It wasn't worth much money but I was a kid and I had spent a lot of time working on it. By the time I found it I didn't want it back. The lady driving it wasn't the one who stole it.

I can also relate to how you might feel. When I got home from work last Friday I found that someone had broken the passenger side window of my F150 and stole the sterio. The truck was in my garage. I couldn't close the garage because it's old and wasn't quite long enough for the truck. Insurance covered the glass but I'm out the sterio due to the deductable being more than the cost of the sterio. This weekend was spent fixing the garage so the truck fits.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could eliminate some of the scum?

I hope everything works out for you.
