Cool

HI!... The SILVERADO SS here is only a 6.0L rated at 345H.P with all-wheel drive and only a AUTO tranny. Goes for about $56,000(CAN)

Of course, but for the price they pay to do that with their truck, we can spend a few more grand and be faster and probably cost less than a new ss.

There's one by my mom's house that I met a few times at the light but he always chickens out and turns onto another street.

i looked at a SS at the local chevy dealer, i like them they are very nice trucks.

the price is pretty high for what you get though,if they lowered the price i wouldnt mind having one.

but performance wise they dont come close to the lightning

Anyone line up with one of those older SS454 trucks? I have seen a lowered one runnin around here, and I wanna piece. He will have traction issues, from lack of traction bars and good tires. I think I cn make a believer outta him.

I know of one beast.....

there is a guy that post on www.ls1tech.com; he has a 427 C5R and radix(magnacharger). Im sure it is pretty nasty. but that is probably 1 out of 1000 that can run real well.

The other day i was with my friends who are all chevy heads and i mentioned that my dad is going to get a lightning in the next couple of months and they caugh *SS, SS, SS* Then I cough *SLOW, SLOW, and over priced* and to my surprise, they all shut up immediately. One friend's family owns a lowered silverado, buick regal, s10, and a 72 skylark GS. Another friend has a lowered chevy dualie, lowered burban, 4 door chevelle, a dropped and bagged s10 and a 50's chevy truck. The other friend's family has a chevelle, silverado, and a 60's camero. And my family has 2 f150's and a toyota corolla. For me to make them shut up about chevy was PRICELESS!!!!! and soon to be when the lightning gets bought, we will have 3 ford truck in hour house hold!!!

There are a lot of those trucks around here. They are all 345 hp version.

Too bad chevy didnt take a regular cab, and put some type of supercharger on to of the 323 (327) That would have at least been some competition. Factory those engines shift at about 6 grand (wot) They are nasty little buggers. Something like 285 at the crank.

I hate how they throw the "SS" badge around nowadays, it used to mean something.

It's not meant to compete with the Lightning... It's more like the Harley Davidson.
Save the trash talk for when the single cab comes out, with the same (or beefed) HP/torque ratings... for alot less than what we paid.

Right on. I saw one the other day. It was pretty foul looking. The L has MUCH better styling. Besides the whine

Got whine?

I remember reading a ad saying the SS was "the Corvette of trucks".......

If anything its the Viper of trucks (overpriced and slower, than the cheaper f-150)
Wait til the Dodge ram with the viper engine boy that will be a pos.

I have actually heard zero-60 in just under 7 seconds for the ss?

Whoopdi doo. L's do 5.2? The new L, I suspect low 4's?
