I have to say, Lowes is better in that department.

Home Depot is a huge warehouse with everything just thrown out in boxes.

Lowes is the same way but sets everything up to be more appealing to the eye, attracts the women more.

I went to Lowe's with my Mom once when she was fixing up her house. She had bought two big buggies full of stuff, and a gas grille. The woman that was ringing her up, overcharged her by about $100 or more. Seems she rang a few things up more than once. And overcharged her for for a living room rug that was $138, but charged Mom $178 for the rug. And the whole time she was ringing us up, she had this *****-eating grin on her face. As soon as my Mom walked out the door, she looked at her ticket and found out she had been overcharged bigtime. But here's the kicker, the head cashier manager was standing 3 feet away, listening to my Mom go on about being ***** out of $100+ Needless to say, they both went back in to get her money. And I'd say that cashier got chewed out pretty good. Some people are just plain stupid. This is people's hard earned money that people like that cashier are dealing with. People like that need to work somewhere where money is not involved!

One of the plumbing guys in Home Depot went out of his way to help me. I bought a gas water tank and while installing it I punched out the fine screen in the regulator while attaching the gas supply hose. I went back to the store to buy a new regulator and the guy insisted on giving me a replacement for free. I said it was my fault, not a fauly part and wouldn't take anything for it. The other day I went there with a leaky kitchen tap and another plumbing guy gives me the mixing valve for nothing. Even though it is 15 years old he said they are covered. No charge. I will go out of my way to deal with Home Depot.

Again, I don't think it'd be a bad place to work but, dealing with the general public sucks. I've worked several retail jobs (back in college) and, think about how 'YOU' act sometimes... now think about having to deal with people like that ALL THE TIME and not really being able to pop back off at them. Sure, we all run into an idiot sometimes but, how many of us here (and I'll include myself) have jumped on someone's *** for something petty or that wasn't even their fault? I know I have. That's the type of chit you have to put up with day in and day out...

On a side note, the guy that I dealt with while purchasing my lawnmower from HD was excellent. The guy knew his stuff and I wasn't able to stump him. I got a comment card and raved about him as people who do a super job need the recognition. Do that for someone next time they go way out of their way to help you. It's a welcome suprise for a manager to hear about how well someone did rather than "Bill in electric wiring is an idiot... and this is why...".

That's hilarious Raoul... but I have a question, I'm sure you noticed this... and I totally disagree with this statement, but how did you get the word "sucks." underneath your name instead of Senior Member?

There's a simple explanation.
I broke some of the site rules which really angered management.
However I am too important to get banned or to even get a temporary suspension.

I believe that what is under my name is a result of managements' frustration.

What "really angered management" was you feel asleep on the job and I got out of my white padded room, and ran around these forums one night wearing my speedo. That'll teach you a lesson.

LOL, I love Lowes. If we had a HD closer I would go there. But all we have is Lowes. Used to have a ****tys, uhh I mean Scottys, but that's long gone. Oh well.

You don't know what we do for 'alternate' punishment though...

Let's just put it this way... Raoul likes it. We had to get creative to keep a leash on him.

Thanks for caring GreenBuck50.

We get to have lots of fun here while poor Steve has to stand guard.
That area under our name says:
'Junior Member'
'Member'
or
'Senior Member'

I think instead of that, Steve should use the area to post what HE thinks about each of us or our post at the time.

What sounds better?
'Junior Member' or 'Lame Brain'
'Senior Member' or 'Nit Wit'
'Moderator' or 'Oh no, what have I done...'
