A Rare Serious Post From Rockpick - Request

This is a rare request from me but, at this moment, I certainly need the support.

My grandmother had a very bad wreck today where a truck ran a redlight and broadsided her vehicle. She, along with 3 other older ladies were in the vehicle. Unfortunately, one of the women (the front passenger) was killed in this accident. My grandmother is in the trauma unit at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville right now recovering. Her outlook is good but I would request that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

The other two ladies are listed in serious and critical conditions at other hospitals. Both had internal bleeding and various other injuries.

I'm very close to my grandmother and this has come as a huge shock to our family and on the heels of finding out that my uncle has lung cancer.

Obviously this has effected many families and will continue to do so for many days to come.

Please keep everyone that has been touched by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you all very much.

RP

My prayers are with you and your Grandmother RP, as well as her acquaintances. Things like this serve as unwanted reminders that none of us is here forever. Take every opportunity to enjoy the friends and family you have while you can. RP, I hope you can see your way clear to take a long weekend and visit her.

Consider it done my good friend. I am sure everything will work out just stay positive. It is very said when something like this happens to anyone, more so to a family member. As you said your very close to your grandmother, but yet she has affected many of us, like myself, who consider you family as well.

May God bless you, your grandmother and all involved...

Thanks guys. That really means alot to me. The latest update from Nashville is that they're going to do another CAT scan this morning on her head to confirm/rule out internal head bleeding.

They *MAY* release her to our local hospital (about 1.5 hours north) sometime today or tomorrow. Thus, things are looking up.

I haven't heard a condition update on the other two survivors.

Thanks again. I sincerely appreciate it.

My thoughts are with you and your family. My dad past away a couple of months ago and I lost a very good friend, hopefully everyone will be fine.

Are they going to charge the idiot who did this?

Sorry to hear about your Grandma. She, her friends and you and your family are now at the top of the prayer list...

You are lucky to have your Grandma. I'm sure she's AWESOME !!

I sure do miss both of mine.

Add me to the prayer list. Although I'm not much of a religous person, I will keep her in my thoughts and light a candle for her speedy recovery.
