@*#& service kids

Yesterday, I took the truck to the dealership for an oil, filter, lube change.
I went home, put the truck into the garage. About an hour later, I went out to repaint the tow hooks, so I sat on the ground and began to mask off the front end when I noticed oil on the garage floor. I looked underneath to see exactly where it was coming from when I saw the oil filter. The buggers never changed it - you could tell that it was old. This morning I took it back to the dealership and told them about the leak and the old filter and they tried to tell me that it was from the guys dirty hands! I did not buy it. They put it on the hoist and then told me that the filter is leaking so that was the problem of the "old look". I told them that the way it looked could not be from the leaking oil. From the time I picked it up to the time I saw the leak it was 1 1/2 hours.
Then they said that they were just going to replace the filter but I made them change the oil again.

I spoke with my salesman buddy there and he was going to take care of the situation.

By the way, the tow hooks look great now!

Well there is a reason some people are slinging oil and wrenches and other reasons why some are in customer service...

I can't believe they thought you would be so stupid as to believe it was the "old look" What kinda moron...sheesh, he should be downgraded to trash dumper.

You would think somebody would be checking the work that is done in some of these shops, but I guess that just doesn't happen.

Another reason, why I purchased a set of ramps, and change my own oil and filter. Let the kids f-up somebody else's truck

Damn, well at least they put a filter ON. A buddy on mine, while I was in the Navy, took his car to Jiffy "******** R us" Lube and they changed his oil BUT forgot to put the filter on. He live about 15 - 20 miles down the road, drove his car home where it basically seized up...

That is why I change my own oil! If I was to take it in I would mark the filter and I always check it before leaving the parking lot.

I took my wifes 02 dodge minivan in last week for a 30k check up and a tranny flush wich was very expensive and this is a 5 star dealer/service and the mechanic sprayed tranny fluid all over the under side of my very clean engine. I was really pissed and when they called for a follow up which they have to do to stay 5 star I let them have it! Anyway I have bad luck with any kind of service wehter on my vehicles or at the local Mcdonalds.

I have always found it priceless to drive by one of the quick change places and observe the oil slick on the road from where some poor folks have paid good money to have their fluids replaced only to blow the filter off and/or find out that the plug is missing/loose.

I think I'd kill little Joey down there in the pit if that ever happend to me. He'd drown in used motor oil that day.

If your gonna have to have an oil change at a place like that. I would take a nail and rub the paint off my oil filter in a few spots. Maybe even etch old in the thing. That way there is no question that it was changed when I got it back. Personally it gives me piece of mind to do it myself and know it was done right.
