I hate to admit it (and I did a few months ago on this board) but, the Dodge was a pretty nice truck (or at least the one that I rented for work several months ago was)...

Plenty of perk, nice rumble... very few complaints.

Congrats on the new truck. Don't be a stranger.

Congrats on your son starting college and his new ride.

I test drove a Dodge on Saturday. I'm a Cummins Marine dealer, so ofcourse I test drove the new diesel. WOW!!! Bad news for us Californian's is that it's derated to 235HP.
Time for a Nevada address.

When I was looking for a truck when I got mine, I test drove 2 dodges. One was a Durango, which I did like, but it was used and had several bald tires and the AC didn't work. Also drove about a 99 or a 2000 Dodge extended cab with their V8. That cab was huge like was mentioned and it ran pretty good. I didn't drive it very far, but it seemed like a good truck. I know some Dodges are very good trucks. One of my uncles has to older Dodges and drives both of them even now.

thanks guys for the positive comments. i am very proud of my son, kinda makes me feel i don't deserve what he has accomplished.

as i mentioned, i bought the truck from an individual and had to drive about 150 miles to get the truck. negotiated the deal over the internet and phone. the guy sent me 27 pictures of the truck but you never know what it really looks like till you see it. when i met the guy and saw the truck; it was more than i expected. easy to tell the guy took great care of his truck. my son had to umpire a t-ball game and couldn't go with me to get the truck so i got an opportunity to try it out on the way home and i was really impressed with the truck. Still love my Screw but won't complain if i get to drive the dodge occasionally.

we considered replacing the '99 with another ford but he didn't want to buy the same body style as he had. Couldn't wait or afford a 04, so he went with the dodge. Ford and Dodge are the only trucks out there with any appeal IMO; those Chevys just don't have the look plus all the ones i've driven were pretty bad.

Mike, those Cummins rock. I have a friend that has a Cummins Dodge race truck. This thing runs 10.90s...or it did before he stuck it in the wall at Bowling Green Memorial Day weekend due to a burned piston and blowing junk under the tires. After hitting the wall and spinning, he crossed the finish line in his lane backwords with a 12.17 @72 mph.

yep, it is a fast diesel, that is his aol screen name. full race tube chassis, fiberglass body, twin turbo and he had a little methonal mixed with the diesel fuel. that was probably what toasted the piston. runs about 120 mph in the 1/4. thankfully, no one was hurt.
