Yup,

Mine was built in Canada. Has a Romeo engine, Mazda tranny, Sterling differential, Borgwarner T-case......
The only thing Ford about it is the engine and the body. Its a mutt with a Ford logo. Oh, I forgot the air in the tires is metric too. Eh?

Regards

I have a 2002 supercab XL sport with a V6 and it says Canada on ithe sticker. And this truck was produced last July and isn't even a year old yet. Is there another plant in Canada, or is Ontario the only one? If there is another maybe that is where mine came from then.

OTP is the only pickupplant in Canada.

Okay re-read what I said. supercabs in XLT and LAriat trim.

You have an XL Sport which is pretty damn close to an XLT. So it obviously means that there are some non-XLT's going through... but its still a supercab and NOT a work truck

And this info is sourced from somebody that actually works on the assembly line.

Does anyone have a Styleside made in Canada? I was told that Ontario only built the Flairside. Just curious.

JMC,

They build both bed styles.

My bud works there and I drive past it every night on my way home. I actually use the service road that travels behind where the shpping area is so I see the trucks as they are loaded to trailer and train.

Tons of styleside, a few flareside and ALWAYS a couple of dozen Lightnings parked out front. Last night was weird... a couple red, a couple white, no black and like 2 dozen blue. Weird.

When they did a custom paint run (I think in 99) to make a yellow Lighnting for Jac Nasser, they left it on display in front of the factory for 2 weeks.

J-150,

So much for that theory.... I used to work on Royal Windsor Drive at the Purina Pet Food Plant back in 1985-6. Had A Sunbird and wife a Mercury Lynx.
