The Isuzu Rodeo is made in Lafayette, IN.

My wife drives a 92 Rodeo, has 153,XXX miles on it. Got it used, with about 70K on it. I have put a clutch, starter, oil changes, tune up, and a muffler on it.

The 92s also have the Chevy 3.1 motor in it. The 3.1 is just the 2.8 opened up a little, that came in the S-10's. I want to get a 350 kit and put a real motor in it.

So if "Imports hurt our economy" then every one of the Lightnings hurt it. All the Ford's made "over there" are hurting it too, so stop buying them

CAUTION!: Do not buy from Izuzu. My Dad had a 4 cyl. Izuzu Trooper, and he had to put a completely new cylinder head on the damn thing every 6-8 months. It kept bending valves. No joke. Plus the 4wd kept messing up on it. Look in an auto trader magazine, you'll see a bejillion Izuzu's for sale where everbody and their brother are trying to get rid of them. They are nothing but junk. Don't fall for it!

What a coincidence..."Americans" were originally imported, too.

Do you want:

American owned, foreign built

or

American built, foreign owned?

I suppose it depends on if you want the executives to get the money, or the workers (a small piece of the pie, anyway).

In such a worldly economy, the best you can hope to do is buy products/autos from a company that is based in America and founded by Americans.

The truck is an American tradition. Buy American.
Buying an import is like buying fried chicken and cornbread from Japan!

And I can tell you this, JAPAN sucks at making fried chicken and cornbread.

If it is not built here I'd say a LONG way away from it, if it is built here it is American (regardless who owns the place we can always take it and kick the foreigners OUT), if it is not then it basically sucks...

Here's a lesson in economics smarta$$. Ford is an American owned/operated company. The profits from the sale of their cars, trucks, etc, stay here. Even from Ford of Europe. An Izuzufly made in America makes no difference, in fact, hurting our economy. Schools out.
