Well hopefully some day SOON they will get the education system up to par, like PRIVATE schools. The teaching in America LIBERAL schools just plain SUCKS. I have met some teachers that don't seem to have a clue about reality or REAL history and teach the liberal BS to students.

That's why you find alot, not all, but alot of the kids that work at McDonalds to be stupid and SLOW, not worth the min. wage they are being paid.

Thank you liberal education for producing such stupid and slow kids...

You have some very STUPID management in America as well. The factory I work at as an engineer has some of top management that are besides themselves after a trip to China and how factories are run over in China. You hear them state things like "If only our factory could be run like China".

I think to myself "this guy is a complete MORON, must have been taught in some liberal brain wash school"

If these factories in America were run like China THERE WOULD BE NO FACTORIES IN AMERICA, why because they would all go out of business! That is a fact! People in China and other backwards countires that the Liberals love (like Iraq) do NOT have to worry about what they pay there people, what the work conditions are like etc. If you are only making $60 a week you are NOT going to own nice clothes, not going to own an F150 and you sure in the hell are not going to be going to McDonalds to have some brain dead, liberal Brainwashed kid serving you cold left over food.

The reason companies are sending things overseas to be made is because it COST LESS. It cost to much money here in America to make things. Why? because of socialist liberals and there goal of having a socialist country that takes care of all these lazy bastards we have here sitting on their couch, waiting for there HUGE free check to come in the mail, getting complete medical and dental care FREE all because they are to STUPID and LAZY to work a job.

Yes, as Frank said we are LOSING jobs in America to overseas and one of the BIG reasons is LIBERALS, and this crappy education system they continue to try and hold on to though it has been proven a failure time and time again.

Most the teachers need to go back to school to "actually" learn what they need to teach, school budgets need to be cut by 75% because it does not take all the money they are getting now, it is a huge waste of money and a failed program just like Welfare and Social Security. When you promote paying for failed programs and WASTING tax money on lazy bastards then you put other American's out of work because their jobs GO OVERSEA'S

CoachP for every import car that you claims will last a long time I can show you a domestic that will last just as long. A car is a car, do you really think that one is so significantly greater in quality than another?

The first person who buys a new car when it first comes out is the rival auto maker. They buy it, take it to a shop, and tear it apart, finding out what is in it and how it works. Japan doesnt have an edge in cars, if they did then American auto makers would have caught on already and made the odds even, you see this all the time. One company gets 4x4, another company uses it. One company uses airbags, another gets it, one company uses split port induction another picks up on it. The F-150 and the Tundra dont look alike in some ways because of coinsidence, Ford had something going and Toyota tried to make their version. It happens all the time.

My uncle has a 1984 Ranger with 390+ thousand miles on it. He drives it to and from work everyday and it still runs. The odometer went out in 1994, it is estimated to have about 8-900 thousand miles on it. No major work.

Show me an import that has that kind of track record.

The point is, if Japanese auto makers had some brilliant way to make a car that is so much more reliable and one that lasts alot longer dont you think American auto makers would have kinda caught on?

As I said, never been stranded by an American car. Japanese cars are great if you aren't hard on cars. I.E., do all the regular maintenance, drive it easy. Drive one hard or don't keep up with maintenance and you'll be sorry. And God help you when it does break. EVERYTHING is expensive for a ricer, whether it's assembled here or not. And then there's dealing with their service departments. Take it in for a a simple warranty repair, for example a minor paint defect, and they will be looking over it with a fine toothed comb making sure it hasn't been repainted. This is all for the paint peeling off the Honda "H" emblem on the front of a 2000 Accord. On the same car the transmission has never shifted the way it should. Hence the statement received from Honda extending the warranty on their ill-shifting trannys for all 2000-2001 Accords and Odysseys. Ford has always been excellent at repairing any warranty concerns I have.
As for job security, keep believing you can't lose your job. Dell computer, among others, is starting to farm out management jobs to China now. First manufacturing goes, then slightly behind that the rest of the jobs go. As for education, your kids' best chance is in private schools.

Funny reading this morning...

funny because some one wants to justify supporting another country's economy. Hey its your money, spend it how you may!
But if you want this country's economy to continue to grow, spend your money wisely

Peugeot sold cars here until 1991. So few were sold they pulled out of the US market. They were junk.

I bought my Ford cause I like it. And Jap trucks have an occupant height limit of about 4'6".

But its difficult in this world market to tell where something is made.

Fact is the corporate structures do not fall within the boundry lines of seperate nations so profits may go here, but labor goes there. And vice versa. Very confusing and very hard to track.
One thing is for sure. The big corporation live and die by their profit margins and will do anything to save a buck here and make a buck there.

30 years ago when foreign trade and tariffs and taxation was simpler, it was easier to pick what was made here. I would love to buy a truck from the guys who actually made it. Who's kids play on my kids baseball team. But its just not possible these days.

Steel?

Remember when most steel was made here?. I do we had many steel plants in and around buffalo, where are they now??. Oyea they are all gone, under cut by the non USA overseas companies. Buffalo is almost a ghost town. Keep buying OTHER'S crap and we will all pay for it. America's workers work to be weathly to have things others can only dream about their workers only work and have little to show for it.

Like Fast Gator said "Hey its your money, spend it how you may!"

It's interesting that when they take surveys, people say that "schools" are in trouble. But when they are asked about their own school, or their child's school, they say it's great.

We can talk about this until it's:
Earth owned, Earth built
Alien owned, Alien built

Earth owned, Alien built
Alien owned, Earth built

But then it won't matter when we're all part of the League of Nonaligned Worlds, or the United Federation of Planets, or the Babylon 5 Advisory Council.

The last thing I have to say about this is in the pic.

Hopefully the wife will agree.

WOW, Interesting slant this one took on. I just got back from a quick business trip since I last posted on this one. It seems to have died thankfully.
