The peace demonstrators are not tolerant of Pro-War thoughts, and they are WAY in the minority.

I didn't mean to indicate to anyone that I thought the media would actually stop covering this drivel, I simply made a comment that it would stop if the media would stop covering it.

As for your comment about watching this stuff 'because it is 'interesting', I encourage you to re-think your position. This sh*t is about as interesting as a Jerry Springer show on unfaithful tranvestite parents of dysfunctional cross dressing adolescents. I know I'm probably in the minority again, but I've trained myself to immediately turn this type of nonsense off because I don't need to see it, and because I don't want to perpetuate it being broadcast by helping to provide network ratings.

I've used one term time and time again throughout similar posts on this board. That term is focus. We all need to focus on what's important right now and that's what's going on overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. Everything else, the French BS, the Peace protestors here and abroad, and any/all political posturing in our own government needs to be ignored as unimportant. If we can stay as focused as our troops abroad, we'll all be just fine.

That's it for me on this topic.

Off topic but, I agree 235% with you (mind you, we don't adhere to the metric system thus, I can agree above 100% - LOL!).

The US has precisely the same problem.

We call them leeches. The grab a hold of the system and drain it for all they can. The honest, hard working, folks out there that pay their taxes fund this type of dishonesty.

Case in point...

At the grocery store many years ago. Young woman in front of me paying with food stamps (which I have absolutely NO problem with -- if they need assistance, I'll be the first to help but... here's the crux)...

She's checking out and the cashier explains to the woman that she cannot use the food stamps to pay for her dog food. The woman becomes irrate. Long story short, she sends her kid back out to the grocery with the sack of dog food and he is instructed to return with hamburger meat. That's right. The lady bought about 4 or 5 pounds of fresh ground chuck to feed to her mutts.

That's our tax dollars at work?

Ahh, I could go on and on but, I'll refrain...

We all have the problems Adam... It's really ashame.

I am sorry if that sounded confusing. I know exactly what you were saying, but I just didn't word it right. But I do agree with you.

As far as the "because it is interesting" comment, I will find out what is going on and where, but then I do turn it off. They were talking about the rallies here in town on this evenings news. As soon as I heard that I turned the TV off.

I was giving an example as to how people actually think. Why are shows like Jerry Springer still on the air and why do people watch his show. Everyone I know hates this show and others like it, but yet they are still showing them and they seem to still be popular.

As was mentioned, the networks will do anything to get people to watch their network to get ratings. There are people who actually want to see these things. Why, I don't know.

You are very correct on Focusing on what is important. What is going on overseas is what is important. I have noticed some news broadcasts are starting to show less coverage of the war and more of these protest. These protests are not what are important, the war and what is going on with it is what is important

I hope that it is clarified some.

Rockpick,
Yes, my bit about the asylum seekers was a bit off topic but I was just trying to make a point of their protesting.
These people have claimed asylum in my country. I (and many others) support them though our taxes.
They are here because their country obviously sucks.

I don't think that they should repay us by going on a march and waving their countries crappy flags while protesting that we are a bunch of warmongers.

Must be nice for them to be in a free country where you can say what you like.
