Pay the fines and do the time. I did. The stuff stays on you reccord for three years. I got caught going 110 in a 65 zone by aircraft. imagine how I felt when the insurance bill came...also the darn ticket. Now that I am older, I have calmed my natural tendancies or so I like to think. I don't have anymore points on my reccord and I'm paying less than I ever have before. In California you can only go to traffic school for one offence in 12 or 18 months, I think. So, try to get some of those points taken off by traffic school (if it's not a DUI or reckless driving or excessive speed charge). good luck!

one thing you can try is postponing the court date, i've used it here in order to get one ticket to drop off before adding another. don't know about cali's system though.
talk to the DA and see if he can help a little. yes you will get your butt reamed by him but it's worth a try. i've done that as well.
as far as driving to work, here we have an occupational license which allows you to drive to work. it has specific times and routes though not unlimited driving.
good luck. oh yeah and slow down i have to say that, not that i would.
