Talking direct tv

I just installed a direct tv satellite system w/ a 2 room set up. The set up was pretty simple. The hardest part was pointing the dish but it's all good now. They have great deals going on now (free install, free equip.) and it's a cheaper than cable

There is also dish network systems, but i think direct tv is a better value. Both are worth looking at.

I tried Comcast, AT&T, Bellsouth ... and finally went with DirectTV... By far DirectTV has the best quality picture ...

Love HDTV ... I actually put an Antenna up in the attic to get local channels in HD... I have heard that soon the Sat. companies are going to have to start offering the locals in HD.

I have DirectTV on 4 TV's for $66 per month. We have the local channels and all of the HBO channels.

My only complaint is that Direct TV needs to add more HD channels... They offer a PPV Movie, HDNET, HBO and Showtime. I have heard they are adding ESPNHD next month. (we will see)

Of course I would be complaining more if I had Cable, because they are still not offering any HD channels.

We have Direct TV in 3 room in our house. We just picked up a 65" Mitsubishi Hi Def integrated TV for our living room. Its weird that we can pick up local channels with HD with just an antenna. I think we pay $59 a month with all the HBO channels and the local channels. I love it and would never go back.

Check this out too... when we moved (from Maryland to Ohio) we called up Direct TV and told them that we were moving and they gave us the "moving package" which for $14.95 included a NEW dish and set up at our new home (as long as we agreed to keep it for a year). The guy came out last night and set us up. We got the Hi Def dish and the installation dude ran the wires into two additional rooms (this house only had it going into one room). The existing dish is not mounted on the house, but beside our driveway. He even dug a trench and ran the wires underground. And it only cost us $14.95 for EVERYTHING! No additional costs for anything. Man, these guys are great.

I think as competion between cable/ internet/satellite heats up the consumer will really benefit productwise and pricewise. Both satellite co.'s are offering HDTV receivers. I think cables arrogant attitude of the past are coming back to get them.

We have the Dish Network and it works great also. now if only they provided internet over them. I know they are or were trying to merge, but the gov wouldn't allow them. We also have the Direc PC satalitte internet service and its nice.
