what a night it has been

interesting story here.....
me and a couple of my buddies went to an audio shop today to get a new amp for my friend's car system, my friend who was driving was drinking a few beers on the way up there and so was the passenger in the front seat.... (it was 5 of us).... well on the way there a cop passes by, we weren't speeding or anything, but suddenly the cop turns around..... needless to say we toss the beer out the window, and we hoped the cop didnt see us.... he followed us until we turned off the road and then he pulled a truck that was in front of us..... on the way back which was about 2 hours later, we decided to try to find the beer.... we passed the place where we threw it out and turned around to look again because its dark by now and low and behold a cop pulls up right behind us..... "get your hands on the dash.... get your hands on the seat!!!" what the F$$K is what we were saying.... come to find out the guy that got pulled in the truck said he saw us toss the beer and the cop sat there and waited for us to come get it..... needless to say he got a dui and the passenger got a underage drinking ticket and littering.... none of us are over 21 here..... well this is what i have to say about it..... the cop, knowing exactly what has happened questions me and i have not been drinking..... what pissed me off about the whole situation is that the cop told me that if i didnt tell what i knew i would be handcuffed..... i wasnt going to narc on my friends and i didnt, so i told him i didn't know anything about the situation.... but can a cop handcuff me if i havent been drinking and i wont tell what i know???? im not in trouble, everything is settled now but i decided it would just get some input about this...... if u want to chew me out save it... the cop fed me everything tonite peace

Yes, its called impending an investigation. When one has done wrong one should always be “yes sir/mam, no sir/mam”.

It is great he caught you all. This just may save your life, your friend’s life, and more importantly an innocent person’s life. Good job for the cop’s the good guys win another one.

Hopefully what will happen is the driver will pay a HUGE fine, lose his licenses for at least a year, and his insurance will cost him, each month, more then a Lighting truck payment. This will be good because all his buddies will understand just how stupid it is to drink and drive.

Peer pressure will kill you. Remember a real man does what he thinks and knows is right, it is boys that follow the crowd.

First off, you realize how fawkin stupid what you did was. First off drinking WHILE driving, then going back to GET the beer you threw out after ALMOST getting busted. Unfawkin believable

Yes its a little thing that could be called obstruction of justice or impeding an investigation. You were lying to a cop which is a HUGE mistake. In this case its going to be painfully obvious that everyone in the car knew what was going on so saying you didn't know what was going on was basically insulting the cops intelligence. So he had more than enough right to handcuff you, as well he should have too. I always laugh when I see stupid people like you pulled over along side the road getting busted for crap like this. Heck when I used to drive tow truck and I'd do illegal parks around the bars I'd call in drunks every chance I got cause no way do I want them driving on the roads.

Now if you didn't wanna get chewed out over this you should never have posted it. What you and your friends did was incredibly stupid cause you were endangering yourselves, as well as everyone else on the road. Think how you'd feel if you got in an accident and killed a family cause you were drinking. Obviously what the cop said tonight didn't sink in that well cause you thought you were in the right by lieing to him. Guess you need to get chewed out some more and MAYBE something will sink in. Some people

Really? So he is just a complete moron then? Hell at least if he was impaired he would have an excuse as to why he was stupid enough to go back for the beer.

Than again acting like a boy and following the crowd.

By the way, be thankful you can read all this bitchen, because you could be in a morge right about now...

Whether or not he was impaired is irrellavant. There was an open container in the vehicle within reach of the driver. The cops knew you were drinking while driving and had obviously seen the beer come out of the car (why they didn't nail you right away I don't know). So they had a description of the vehicle and knew you were drinking so all they had to do was wait till you came back. Personally I feel the laws for lieing to a police officer should be much steeper than they are currently, maybe that would make people think twice before doing it.

Little advice, next time a cop has you pulled over for something like this and says that he knows what went on and that if you lie to him he's gonna put you in handcuffs, listen to him.

look, u weren't there... the driver only had 2 beers.... the only reason he got the ticket is because he confessed to it..... i mean if u r a panzy and u got a buzz after 2 beers then u should not be driving.... its a fact that over 75% of americans on the road today have consumed a "small" amount of alcohol 30 mintues before getting on the road.... how many get pulled... i dunno.....

You asked for opinions your getting them.

Who cares that it was only two beers, that two could be the difference between some innocent motorists being dead while your stupid friend walks away "with only two beers" in him.

That is always how it works the punk drunk drivers barely gets a scratch, the others end up dead. So the definition of a panzy is someone who gets a buzz after two beers? I always thought it was somebody who wasn't man enough to say "No I am Driving".

Sigh, guess you just ain't gonna listen. All of you were VERY much in the wrong, and deserve all the reprocussions that happen due to this.

Rugby, well said. Thats the reason that I walk to the bars here. If its really that much of a problem I take the bus, but thats the reason I don't drive cause I might hurt myself or someone else, and I don't really want to have that hanging over me the rest of my life.

Don't know where you pull those figures from, it is estimated that after 5:00pm on a given evening, that 10% have consumed. My son is 20 and was with a driver who had consumed and got pulled over. No open container, but he was with someone who had been drinking, $300.00 fine, case closed! I was young once and drank, 'by the grace of God I never had an incident, but I have no sympathy for anyone who drinks and drives no matter their age or ability to put it away!

That is written in stone somewhere....You get caught when you go back to look to see 'what happend' I adhere to this (by no means drinking and driving) practical jokes and crap

BRANRULZ, that does suck. You kind of have to expect people to react the way they have. Though a lot of people do it, drinking and driving is wrong. No matter how much we may try to justify our situation, it's wrong.

The cop was doing his job. They handle each situation differently. They have to use there best judgement. He may have seemed to be a jerk (and he very well may be) but we have to take a second and try to see the situation from their perspective. I think it's in our best interest, regardless of the particular situation, to be straight forward with a police officer. Only speak when being asked a question. Only answer questions that are being asked.

I have found that as I get older I feel less and less like the cops have it out for me. I was intimidated when I was younger. Experiance has taught me that police officers are just people with a complicated job. They are given more athority in thier position but also have a lot of responsibility.

You and your friends can come out of this bitter and hate cops. I think that you all would be better off to accept responsibility for your actions (yours being allowing someone to operate the vehicle your riding in under the influance) and learn from this. Your actually lucky that this has happened while your young. Some people get away with driving under the influance for years. These are the people that convince themselves that they are ok. It only takes one time to mess up everything.

I am not a perfect person so I'm not going to criticise you. Get through being pissed off at the situation and live on knowing that most people are not going to be to kind to people who drive under the influance. Two beers or ten beers, a lot of people only see the under the influance part.

01 XLT Sport...

I do believe that this is the first time that I COMPLETELY agree with you! Usually I find something to disagree on with a serious statement from you...even though I have learned that I can argue until I'm blue in the face and you still hold strong to your opinions. Maybe I should start calling you Stonewall.

Anyways...I may not always agree with you, but you took the words right out of my mouth in response to this kid.
