DAYTONA washed out, run under lights, or...?

Follow the link to see the radar:

Daytona is the "DAB" right below all the "liquid debris".

I hope they finish 2day. You decide!

They are going to get some rain. No doubt about it. If they start now, it looks like they'll get rained out in the middle of the race. Thanks for the radar XceLenT Driver. I say wait three or four hours and race under the lights. If they have lights that is.

Just reached lap 100. Race is official if it rains any more...this could be the end. Go Waltrip!

Race was called, its gonna rain the rest of the day. Waltrip won! Not exactly the best way to win but they knew at the time that it could be the end of the race. DEI really has those restrictor plate races down.

I would have rather seen them postpone it an race it tomorrow. But I don't live far from Daytona and I know that it is supposed to rain through tomorrow, so they did the right thing, I guess.

It seems that something has happened that ruined the finish for the at least the last three Daytona 500's. In 2001 Dale Earnhardt died, last year the race was red flagged with only a few laps remaining and this year it rains it out. Hopefully the rest of the season will be good

Oh yeah, Congratulations to Michael Waltrip. many people do not like him, but he has won the 500 back to back

Your very right about they should have run the entire 500 miles, paulv107. The teams have been there for two weeks, but I guess they have to be in Rockingham to race on the 23rd, so there is no time with traveling and qualifing.

It still sucks for the people that came to Daytona to see the Daytona 500

Yeah, that sucks...

At least they saw a couple of good wrecks and thankfully, all walked away safe.
