city or country?

Just wanted to know how many of us live in the city or the country? If you are in the country how much land do you have? I personally have 87 acres.

This may not sound like much compared to the rest of country.

I live in Orange County California. The area is mostly suburban sprawl and cities. Here in Silverado I have 1 acre and it's located in a canyon butted up against a National Forest. The closest grocery store and gas station is 10 miles away. It is as close to country as you get around here. The land value here for 1 acre is equal to 100 acres in most parts of the midwest.

I have the best of both worlds.

I live in a town of 500 people. It is almost like living in the country. You even have to drive 8 miles to get a gallon of gas.LOL

My house is in the city, but our lot is just over half an acre.
I know it's not much, but compared to everyone else around here, they have postage sized lots.

The reason we like it so much is because it feels like we live in the country, but everything is close by.
Kind of the best of both worlds.

Just to give you an idea of how close everything is from here:
Home Depot = 2 miles
Biggest shopping centre in town = 1 mile
McDonalds = half a mile
Movie theatre = 2 miles
Touchless car-wash and gas station (accross the road)
Grocery Store = .half a mile
Blockbuster = .half a mile

I have one acre, as country as it gets! Same way in Tennessee, but it's just a trailer lot there. These places are definitely country, though! Johnny Cash lives 30 minutes from my house, and nothing but farms and farms and cows and farms!

I had moved to the country in July 2002. I had lived in the city for 10 years but wanted to move away from it. I took about almost 2 years to find the right spot. I wanted land with no house but I got one with a triple [insulated] garage,1200 sq ft house, and a barn for $80,000. The house needed a lot of work but I like to renovate houses in my spare time. I only put in $7,000 into the house, as I am going to tear it down in 3-5 years and build a 1700 Sq ft one.

Could thing with this new place, only 1/2 mile of gravel to drive and it is a dead end road- the truck likes that.

I live in a sub-division called Hamilton Estates in Harrogate, TN. I live in a brick tri-level style house with a heated garage(2500 sq.ft) on 1 acre of land. I guess you could call it out in the country, just down the road there is a pasture with 4 or 5 Buffalo in it. And my cousin down the road has about 5 horses. We go horseback riding every summer. So yeah, you could call it "The Country."
