Off topic, but...

... I may have the opportunity to swap my '70 Nova SS 350/350, M21 4 spd., rally wheels, Michelin big n' littles, NMW ladder bars, Hedman Headers, the list goes on,,, for a sweet '64 Galaxie, 390, top loader 4 spd., American Torque Thrust Ds, fiberglass teardrop hood (plus original steel one).

Both cars are equally straight, black, sit right and are period perfect.

Probably will get a biased suggestion or two here but just curious what y'all thought.

Well you asked for biased so here you go. TRADE!!!

Kinda sounds like a Thunderbolt replica, other then it being black and they only came in Maroon and White. Then you could say you had Thunder and Lightning

The Thunderbolt WAS a fairlane. I'd trade in a minute! The Nova might be quicker, but those mid 60's full body 4 speed cars are a lot cooler. You'll want to look into traction bars and an Equalok for that 9" though.

I was trying to say that the hood would be a replica of one off a Thunderbolt. I should have been more clear. Anyways, let us know what you decide and be sure to post pics

A very biased opinion........

first time I kissed a girl was in my parents 1961 Galaxie 500, that was the first time a "got wood" with a girl

see I told you it was a biased opinion, Make the trade

While the Nova is a cool car, you Do see them occasionally, I have never seen an old Galaxie on the streets, until I met this guy. A fellow Bucs fan at the local watering hole. A Bucs fan and drives a really sharpe looking Galaxie, don't know the year but would guess 61-64. I get a pic of it next time I see him

Make the trade. Nothing sounds as sweet as a healthy FE motor. The Top Loader trans is the best 4-speed ever made. Tear drop hoods rule. I remember seeing a picture of a current style F-150 with a tear drop hood in Hot Rod Magazine back when they first came out. Does anyone make tear drop hoods for the L?

While both cars are very nice, I would keep the Chebby. I would love to own one of those with a 4-speed. Plus you know what you have.....there could be some problem with that car. Ya never know>??? -Mat-

TRADE !!!!
Then call me and I will share some secrets on making that old FE motor run. I have a garage full of 428 parts, including a crank and some decent heads. Wanna make it run give me a call.
You can build one H@ll of a stroker motor for it.
