YAV (Yuppie Assault Vehicle)

I think it's fugly. Although it sounds like a joke...the engine sounds like a monster. What are the 1/4 mile times? I am thinking around 30 seconds.

Those photos are pretty funny, however, this "anti-SUV" sentiment is really getting on my nerves. I wish people would mind their own freaking business instead of trying to drive their ideology down other peoples throats.

Did you guys check out the site those photos came from?
http://poseur.4x4.org/topten.html#menu

You can tell they really have a hate on for us SUV / Full Size Truck owners.
Everything they have written is mostly subjective stereotypes, dripping with sarcasm, it really is getting old.

Here is the real irony of that site:
All their content is aimed at belittling SUV owners, and making them look like total retards (poseurs, gimmee a break)

But at the bottom of the page is a link to JC Whitney, with the following text:
Help Us Out!

This online auto parts and accessory warehouse has EVERYTHING for your car or SUV at super prices! Get that cow catcher grill guard you've been wanting for your Excursion! I've set up this link to advertise their current special which is usually a great deal. I've bought from them and can attest to their service. Clicking on the following banner and ordering parts will qualify you for discounts and will generate revenue for us as well.

Hello! Is anyone home?

You spend countless hours and energy building your site to inform the world how SUV owners evil villains, and then you have a JCWhitney link to help your site generate revenue?

WTF? Talk about compromising your principles.

I say we form an Anti-Anti-SUV organization, and fight back!

We could start by finding out the names of the Anti-SUV ringleaders, and hold rallies where we all take turns driving across their front lawns.

Whose with me??

Enough is enough already, stop the madness.

Habibi:

I am with you buddy, actually I am currently debating (well trying) with some of these mindless people and trying to put some of their mindless "facts" to rest.

The site is:

I Don't Care About Air, thats the name.

You wouldn't believe some of these people on their. They have tried to tell me that SUV'S and full size trucks are not safe, one guy has tried telling me a small car is safer in an accident then a SUV or full size truck. He went on to claim that he had hit a F150 head-on in his small car at 70mph and just got out and walked a way no problem and that it tore up the F150 bad.

I tried to explain to this guy there was no way in hell he hit anything, let alone an F150 head on at 70mph and just walked away. I know crack is some real bad stuff and kills brain cells, but didnt realize just how bad crack can be.

Anyway it sure would be nice for ALOT more people to get in on this and prove their basic principle in NOT that they are against SUV'S and full size trucks but rather it is either class envy, or something else.

Be forewarn that don't seem to soak up any logic at all (guess thats due to high crack use). Tried pointing out to one guy that my truck is a 4.2 and gets about 18-20mpg and it seemed to slip by him. He has a CAR that he states has a 5.7 V-8 and that it gets equal or better mileage then my truck, but since it is a car it is better, safer, can do more, haul more then my truck.

As you can see NOT much logic, nor do they deal with any facts, basically fiction. It is fun getting in there and sheading some light on it, and tends to really **** them off.

I go by Ford Man (hey couldn't think of anything else) I would highly recommend that if anyone from this board that happens to go over there DO NOT let them know you are from this board or we'll have a lot of nut cases posting thier BS here. Just go over and have some fun. You most likely wont change their mind, but it is an absolute BLAST pointing out the fiction they use for facts and watching them have a heart attack (hmmm maybe some prior chevy owners on that board) can't blame them for not likeing SUV'S and full size trucks due to they dont get to drive them much.

Anyway have fun, kind of neat going into the NUT house and stiring things up a bit...

Pure lunacy. This whole Anti-SUV/Truck craze will go away soon enough. The fool that made that site has nothing better with his time than attack SUV owners by posting stereotypes and counterfeit facts.

01XLTSport, hey buddy!

Yeah, I used to go over to "Idontcareabouttheair", but it was like banging your head against the wall. I made about a dozen posts there as "Habibi", and then I realized it was a lost cause.

At first, I was the "Juvenile Habibi" I went over there just to "torque them up" and have some laughs. Once I got bored with calling them names, then I went over as "sensitive Habibi", I tried to get involved in meaningful debate, and treated them with respect.

After that failed, I went over as "Habibi the debater" I concentrated on the facts only, and tried talking to them like equals.

Then when everything failed, I went back as "Habibi the ahole" and had fun unloading on them, haha

You just can't talk with these people, they are totally off-side in their beliefs, that's my impression anyway. You can show them concrete facts, and they will refute it anyway, and just babble on about how you will 'rot in hell" for driving an SUV.

I don't know why they insist on bringing God to the table, religion and these debates don't mix. Frankly,. I think they are all koo-koo anyway.

I might go back just to call them names again, and leave.

Habibi:

Here is my lastest post over there. I go by "Ford Man"

*** This is someone else's I am responding to:

"Yeah, I can believe an ECHO did well against an F-150 because the ECHO is not like many “small cars”. It’s 2 inches taller than the new Camry and has higher bumpers than most in its class. It’s not smart to generalize all small cars as being unsafe or generalize all trucks and SUVs as being safe because neither is true. Some are just built better than others, like the Tundra is much better than the F-150."

*** This is my response:

Interesting post, and well written if I may add. I agree with your points about NOT generalizing all small cars as not being safe and NOT generalizing that all SUV'S as safe.

The problem here with people that support this site, and from reading your post I don't think you are one of them. The people on this site do nothing more then GENERALIZE all SUV's, full size trucks and the owners of them.

Do I want better gas mileage, you bet no argument there. I do want the SAME power, towing capabilities and hauling capabilities as I now have or better. That need will always be there, if it can be done with better fuel efficient engines I am all for it and BELIEVE it is possible.

Do I believe in the next year that it is possible for SUV'S and full size trucks to get say 30mpg, 40mpg, or more, not necessarily, not saying it can not be done, just dont think it can happen unless a huge increase in production cost, well R&D which the customer will end up paying for.

As you stated it is not logical to "generalize" any type of auto into one category at that includes SUV'S and full size trucks.

My truck F150 4.2 V-6 gets on the average (city & highway) 20mpg (sometimes 17mpg if windy, sometimes up to 22mpg) but with approx. 30 tank fills and doing the calculation it has an average of 20.

That is better then many mid-size cars, for example better then Camaro's, Firebirds, and Mustangs which basically most have V-8's in them. Yet this site that claims to be after the conservation of oil is completely full of BS.

Just those three brands of cars on a whole average about 16mpg, less then my "full size" truck which is a "target" for the "I hate air crowd". Now I have no facts to back this up except my own perception of what I see around here, so I would say there are many more of all those cars I mentioned then there is SUV'S and full size trucks. I would be willing to bet if someone looked up some kind of listing you would find that as a whole there is many, many more Camaro’s, Firebirds, and Mustangs (with V-8's) as a total then there is SUV'S and full size trucks.

I would also add that those three brands have been around MUCH longer then SUV's, not longer then trucks since they have basically been here since the beginning of the auto.

So by looking at that, and anyone who is level headed would agree that is very logical facts, which brings me back to my basic reason for being here "Why SUV'S and full size trucks?"

The logic the people that support this site present does NOT measure up, has absolutely no logic behind it and lacks any real creditability thought process behind it.

For thinking people that have good and logical thought process it works like this in its very basic form:

I have a problem, I look for a solution which in this case would require research, and I take the research and study it to see what areas are of HIGH concern. I take the highest concerns first and try to find solutions for them. After that is complete I go to the next highest concern, and so on.

In the case of the supporters of this site they did not do and logical thought process. The simple came out of no where and had a problem with SUV’s and full size trucks, and at this point have still not said what they real problem is with them. Anyway they took this route.

They first found a solution – Get rid of ALL SUV’S and full size trucks. Then they tried to work backwards to find a problem. Since they did not really have and REAL or logical problems they could not do any reasonable research. Since they had no reasonable research they could not do any logical thought process to find the biggest problem first, find a solution, then the next problem and so forth.

Perhaps someone with some creditability came along and found a problem – OIL consumption. That is a good and logic problem to try and solve. However they did NO research, no thought process NO nothing. If they had done any research they would have found that SUV’S and full size trucks as far as a problem are extremely LOW on the list for dealing with solutions. No rather then do any research or have any logic behind it they moved something that may have been number 389 on the list to number one. They then came up with the most illogic and stupidest idea for a solution – Put some stupid sticker on a person’s Private property which does ABSOULETLY nothing for solving a problem and has an even worse SIDE EFFECT it takes out hundreds of people who otherwise may have tried to be a PART of the solution.

So any of you supporters of this site PLEASE explain the logic behind that. Good luck because that is one hell of an assignment.

**** All the references to "this site" is meant for the "I hate air site" not F150online.
