No kidding? Beats a WRC. I may have to read up on that a little. I don't know a lot about the foreign cars, but I do know the Subaru is supposed to be pretty quick. Something like 227 hp.

Man, oh man...this thread needs to be closed or moved! It is so off topic.

It's bad enough it isn't referring to the F150 HD but now it's digressed to Japanese vehicles!! Where's that puke smiley when you need it

Monte Carlo SS... take it to MTI in Houston and drop an LS1 in it

BTW that Lancer might have 271 HP...... and 4.8 to 60.

My best friend has an 02 MC SS.
It's a pretty nice car for a woman (that's what I tell him)
and if it's for your wife, then I'm sure she will be ahppy with it.

I tried hard to get him to buy an LS, but he thought the SS had more of a cool factor (I think the LS is cooler)

I drive it quite a bit, because sometimes we have to trade vehicles, it drives pretty good, but since i'm such a fat bastard, it's not very roomy for me.

I think for the money, the car is under-powered, but if speed isnt your thing, I'm sure your wife will like it.

He's had his since the spring, and never had a problem with it so far.

Good Luck
Habibi

Harley#356...What is that god-awful-looking silver car that you posted a picture of? It looks like a Subaru swallowing a Pontiac!!!

What have we all learned from this thread?
1)No one knows how many horsepower the Lancer has.
2)Pontiacs are all ugly, borrowing ugly features from one another untl we get an inbred-looking vehicle like the A$$tek.
3)The same said Pontiacs eat Subarus (we have picture proof).
4)Subaru could probably be the leader in their class, but they choose not to sell their big dawg in the United States.
5)Lincoln LS = Good car, man!
6)BillP hates OT threads.
7)Habibi is really bigger than I had previously thought, according to him anyway.
8)Evidently, we need a puke smiley in a bad way.
9)Dodge and mitsubishi STILL haven't sorted through the bad times of the Diamondstar Debauchle.
10)Buy the Monte Carlo SS (that's right, general consensus is the Chevy won this thread!) I hear that MTI in Houston does great engine work!

Just to share my recent GM experience...

We have a 99 Venture with 55k on it. The engine developed an internal/external coolant leak throught the lower intake gaskets. In researching this problem, I found out the majority of 3.1 and 3.4 GM engines have or will have this problem. The 3.8 has also had a few problems, although not as high as the other two. The dealer we had it repaired at said they do about 5 - 6 of these repairs every week! We have two friends that have 97 and 99 Ventures. I looked at their vans and they have the same problem. BTW, the 3.1 and 3.4 engines are used in MANY of their cars...
