GM is GM! ... aren't Monte Carlo and Grand Prix the same platform? I'd go with what you think has the best aesthetics for you.

The biggest difference is the GTP has 40 more ponnies by adding a supercharger.

I hate mustang with all of my being and ford destroyed the Thunderbird, so I have to look to the dark side for 2 door vehicles.

Amen...

But the newer Monte Carlo doesn't look to good either.
I'd go with the GTP.

I just found out they killed the GTP 2 door this year =(... I guess the Monte wins by default..

I can get like $8000 off sticker, that's why I'm considering it.

although i'm not much for chevies or mopars, the Monte Carlo is probably my most favorite looking chevy car. I don't like the headlights, but from that back it looks pretty good, and i love the taillights for some reason.
Goodluck!

Nope.. Mustangs are terrible cars. Yes the performance is there these days, but everything else is 20 years behind the times.

Thumbs down Junk!

I think theyre both junk in my opinion. Ive never seen as many used cars that were as bad as Pontiacs...I'll never buy one for this reason. Go look at some used ones before you buy one of those cars. It cured me from thinking they might be good cars! When it comes to sedans and car (not trucks) American cars just dont cut it! BUT, I do agree with on the mustangs, they need the totally new 2005 (I think) to come out soon! The current 'stang just sucks!

OUCH.... tough crowd. I guess I'm on my own here, it's hard to be a die-hard FORD man.

Oh well, good luck car hunting.

What the hell are we doing talking about GM cars in an F150 HD forum???

If you're gonna dis Ford products go to some GM forum and do it. Last time I checked this is an F150 Harley-Davidson forum.

I agree w/bluoval on GM cars. All junk. What do you want with a front wheel drive car anyway??

Just like Chrysler, GM pretty much gave up on rear drive muscle cars with exception to the overpriced Corvette.

You start asking opinions about GM cars in this forum better expect to get some negative response..

Well first off this car is for my wife and her performance priorities are very different. I am not or will not give up my HD that I love very much.

Second, I don't have the die hard Ford loyalties that some of you do. This is my 4th Ford in my 12 driving years along with chevy's and even a few dodge's. Ford's car lineup has been left to die for a long time now if you want to admit that or not.

The build quality of the mustang makes GM look like a division of Honda. My wife also hates them for their popularity - she says she can't go a mile without seeing one.

For a great deal, my work gets us Xplan and GM supplier pricing. Nothing on an foreign vehicles. I have also had a GM card for years and the earnings toward a GM vehicle have grown to $2000. Combined with the $3000 rebate right now, many GM vehicles are $7500+ off sticker.

I dislike GM products, boxy, toyish, junk. Just my opinion.
bluoval - you talking about GM products or the mustang? hehe

Don't stone me guys, I have always and still love Ford Trucks. Can't I be a "Ford Truck Die Hard" without preaching the rest of their line?

I agree that this should be in the "General" area. But I also can't get excited about front drive "performance" cars. Maybe there is a reason that trucks sell as well as they do - being they are rear drivers. I wonder if the "car" companies have looked into any corelation.

As far as Mustangs being "terrible" cars....I don't get it. The GT's are a blast to drive. The 6's are great commuter/grocery/daughter type cars that you turn the key and go. You rarely hear of anyone getting stranded in them. They are very reliable (been in Ford dealers for many years - about to get back into one soon).

Corvettes........overpriced?.........come on...... They are a great value for what you get and what you have to pay to match perfomance. On top of that they have above average resale. I have owned 6 and will probably own many more. I have never had a roadster yet, that will be the next.

I will give the '05 Mustang a serious look, as well. It will be built on the Lincoln LS platform. I have an LS now, V-8, and a very good car.

How about the Marauder? Sure it is a 4 door, but is is a way cool car.
