just to be clear on my post, I am NOT cop bashing. However I have been known to Bash POLITICIANS!! They are the ones that have alowed the rights to be taken away from cops.

it is so bad here that the cops are afraid to pull anyone over unless they know for absolutely sure they are white christians! If they pull over any other race or religion they get sued for racial profiling. I know a lot of cops in this area and they are looking for other jobs because it has become so easy for them to lose their jobs just because someone from another race/religion wants to get out of a speeding ticket.

sorry for the rant.

back on topic, i have also read that the fires were being caused by aftermarket bolts piercing into gas tanks. hold the aftermarket installers responsible not ford. oh wait, the aftermarket guys don't have any money! but ford does!! so it must be their fault!

have you noticed that no one has mentioned the fact that no 2 accidents are the same and that virtually any car that is subject to a high speed rear end crash will catch fire. the government only tests up to 35 mph. i would be willing to bet money that if you hit say a toyota avalon at 60 mph while it was parked on the side of the road that the gas tank would leak!

i will stop now.

hcmq is correct. Car fires can happen to ANY car or truck all depends on the crash and circumstances. It is sad that cops have to worry about who they pull over based on race or any other factor. If someone is in the wrong then they are in the wrong.

As far as what "LeanNCut" posted about personally information and the cop askind STUPID questions that he has NO right to ask good for you and I agree with you. If he pulled you over for speeding then he should give a speeding ticket not ask 20 questions that is NONE of his business. However if for example the cop had said "we just had a reported break-in etc. and your car/truck matches the discription" then that would be fine for him to ask questions SINCE now it is an investagataion and not a MINOR traffic violation.

Don't get me wrong I am not bashing the majority of cops just the FEW really STUPID ones that make the rest look bad. I grew up around cops. No one in the family but 3 CHP's and 2 local cops were very good friends of my father and I learned from them ALWAYS show respect for the cop when pulled over, always keep your hands in CLEAR site at all times and ALWAYS ask permission to retrieve documents from the glove box etc. it makes it less stressful for the cop which in turn makes it less stressful for yourself.

I have always been yes sir, no sir if pulled over. I don't answer the stupid questions its either give me the ticket or get on with your business. A cop is there to protect the public he/she is NOT God and not the Judge.
