2002 F250 on X plan

Looking at a 2002 F250 , 4 door, ,diesel engine, XLT, locking diff, 373 gears, 4x4, power buckets, loaded!!!!!!!! $40,600 X plan is $35,000 . Bright red. Trade in is 2001 F 150 Supercrew, 5.4, with 36,000 miles. They offered $20,000 I owe $15,000. The note will be $550 a month for 5 yrs at 2.9%. Is this fair ? I love the F150, but I pull a 20ft,((7500 lbs or more loaded) and a 21 ft boat(4500 lbs). I pull a trailer almost every weekend. I get 10 mpg pulling the boat, and 7-8 pulling the 20x8 enclosed. Last trip in the mountains my F150 was running 4500 rpms on the hills and sounded like it was going to blow up!! Had 20 ft with 3 quads, 2 dirt bikes and ALOT of gear. I need a bigger truck!!!!!!!
What do yall pull behind your F250?????????

Question

Is a $40,600 truck, worth $35,000 on the x plan??? My friend thinks it should be cheaper than that. What should be a good guess of what the x plan price is??

When I recently looked, for the F250 PSD CC it was $5,000 off list, which would be right. With the X-Plan, the dealership should just sit down with the invoice that shows the A-Plan price and add the 1.5% (or what ever the x-plan is over Ford employee cost) and it is right there in front of you in black and white. This is what they did with me when I bought my EB Expy in 2001.

Yep, $5K sounds about right for the discount off MSRP for X Plan. There is a post somewhere over in the Lightning forum that has a link to a page with details on the X Plan, and from there you can get the exact X Plan price. In fact, you should be able to go to a page on Ford (FordDirect, I think) that you can search dealer inventory and find out the X plan price for each vehicle.

Found dealer 2 hrs away that has F250 2002 XLT loaded for $ 34,700 plus tax, that is his price with no x plan. He said that is cheaper than x plan.

Goochy, with X plan you are saving $4,900 on the first vehicle you mentioned. I just bought a 2003 Super Crew FX4, 5.4L V8 and saved $4,735 with an X-plan. Your numbers sound right to me. GO FOR IT!!!!

By the way, X-plan savings on an Explorer are only around $3,000.

Thanks still trying to get!!, I begged really hard tonight to the wife. I said it is safer, than my truck now. I made some progress. I need a REAL truck to pull!!!!!!!!! I think I might drive 2 hrs and try to get the white 2002 7.3 4x4 crewcab for , $34,700 ( loaded!!!!) Do not know sticker price on white F250 yet . Every penny saved helps. Plus my wife does not like red. I also love soild white with dark windows, and some rims with 305s on it . I would buy it without asking , but she has been nice this year, new 2001 Malibu VXL Wakesetter (comp. skiboat) , and new 2001 Raptor (ATV). But my old truck is hurting , pulling these big loads. I have 285s on my F150 with 355 rear end with 5.4, so the big tires hurt ALOT. it pulls ok, only gets 8-10 pulling big loads.

Found a 2002 solid white 4 door 4x4 I like. Test drove it today, bought it home and it fits in my garage , so I was happy. Still looking for best deal, note is going to be $570-$580 a month for 5 yrs. Hope to close deal Monday, if we get all the numbers worked out. The dealer wants to DEDUCT $500.00 off my trade because I have NEW!!! 285x75/16s on it, YES deduct!!! so we are fighting over tires now. he wants the stock 255s back on it.

It makes sense, for a dealer. He has to resell it and changes from OEM limit his audience. Work out a deal and have him swap out the SD's tires to bigger ones and you put OEM's back on yours.
