Ford Is Dumb!

They bought Volvo with all of its diesel technology and existing engines and haven't done anything with it. No, they just want the saftey engineering.

Think of it... a small 4 diesel in the Focus and Ranger. A large 4 diesel or small 6 diesel in the Taurus, Explorer and Crown Vic.

A diesel Focus would suck away so many sales from the TDI Jetta. The Explorer as the only TDI SUV in America.

C'mon Bill, smarten up.

Ford only got the car part of Volvo, They are just now starting to share car platforms now...I would say that you will see new fords with more safety equipment on them now, like head air bags and side airbag...

I'd like to join the diesel club! Don't like the F350 style/size though so waiting for V-6 TDI F150 2003 I think.

Sounds to me like the two new diesel platforms they are working on are going to be awesome, screw Volvo they are great saftey dudes but the 6.0 and 4.5 diesel platforms that are in the works are going to be great. My opinion only!

Ford Motor Company purchased Cummins a few years ago. Chrysler still has time on their contract with Cummins. It will be interesting to see what happens to the Dodge trucks. Maybe International will sign a contract with them?

I believe Mercedes is developing their new diesel, even one to compete with the mini psd from Ford.

Yes, Ford owns Cummins.
Ford uses Cummins engines in other countries.

Yes, the next Rams will have MB diesels.
The next generation Ram Vans will actually be MB cargo vans from Europe.

Ford owns only the car division of Volvo.
Yes, Volvo has small car diesel technology that they use in the rest of the world.
