Diesel Break in?
I use these reconmendations for my vehicles...100 miles on the brakes..No jamming on or hard stops...
1000 miles on the engine- no extended mileage at the same speed...keep it under 70mph..City driving is idea for break in...
You should see an increase in fuel mileage around 9-10k miles as the rings and engine breaks in fully and loosens up...
wait until 10K to put synthetics in the engine so that it is completely broke in...
THESE ARE SUGESTIONS...

Bet you can't wait until your new truck comes in. When I ordered mine, I would call the dealer every Monday morning for word on build date, delivery date and just to bug them into not forgetting about my truck.
When you get the truck, do NOT use the cruise control for the first 500 miles. Always drive at varying speeds. After 500 miles you can tow and use the cruise but I would try to hold out until 1000 miles. I've found that my truck loves to tow and the heavier the load the better it runs afterwards. My best fuel milage will be the tank after I've towed my travel trailer!!! You've got the Lariet so you have that on board computer thing. Don't trust it, do the math yourself when it comes to your milage. And unless your Ford dealer is giving you a great deal on oil changes, do them yourself too. Good luck with your new truck, hope it comes in soon.
