04 F-250 Progress Tracker....

Codename "Blackhawk" as named by everyone that hears my turbo haha

Sold the f150 the first wek of June 2011 and got this one later that week. It's a 2004 f250 lariat fx4 psd. Wanted to move up to a crew cab but still have a real bed. Ended up in a diesel for the price. Truck was a buyback at 36k miles due to a leaking up pipe. I bought it at 169k miles and still stock engine wise.

Truck only had aftermarket wheels when I bought it.

First mod was to install my painted 08 sd taillights and then cruise out to the beach.

Next up was a radio. Budgeted it in when looking at trucks and got myself a pioneer 4300dvd

Started my new Job on July 5th the same day I did the radio delete mod

I then promptly bought some new handles and put on 4 rear door handles so no more key holes and lock cylinders.

Then I took a few shots with the Tahoe I bought for the wife

I had always liked kmc xd hoss wheels and my current wheels had too much offset and were rubbing the leafs even with some spacers up front. So. I found a set and put them on with the crappy goodyears. Also put the newer style 05-07 lights on and they made a nice difference.

2 of the current tires were trashed so I got a pair pretty cheap off craigslist to get me by for a while.

I then found a good deal on a newer dash from an 06 lariat to replace the broken one.

I purchased an edge insight CTS about the same time to monitor things like egt and eot v ect. And some weather tech floor mats from 4wp on sale and a new steering stabilizer

As you can see in the last 2 pics above I was having an issue with my ect v eot meaning my oil cooler was bad. Womp womp womp. Well it was time to replace it and do an egr delete. I ended up winning a free egr delete from a new vendor promo when they started on powerstroke.org and I bought a cooler and few other parts such as a coolant filter etc from vendors and ford.

Then had a Ford master diesel tech go to town on the truck

Healthy running again I had my tuner going and I was good for a while. Until I found a deal on an 08 tailgate in mostly my color.

The next morning I got hit again. Had a punk kid bust the back window slider and steal nothing. I was then forced to install a new window and decided to go power slider vs manual and it turns out I got the newer style window also from an 08+ truck. (no rubber gasket around the window). Truck was all prewired just plug and play.

Next up was some new Taires. Wanted a wider tire that was just slightly shorter and they would have rubbed bad on the current hoss wheels. Got a sweet package deal at 4wp and some falkens and fuel wheels got installed. 20x10 -24mm and 305/55/20. And found a cheap 08 rear bumper minus the sensors.

Sold my old wheels to a guy I knew in Houston and got his 06 king ranch door panels and switches as partial trade. But needed a new mirror switch pigtail (see last pic)

Old chitty tires

Finally was able to find a 05-07 front end and promptly installed it event though tit was black

As luck would have it I was able to get a bumper the same night I installed the black one that was already ptm and some newer seats that were a little better shape than my current ones

Ended up getting the rear bumper installed and the ’11 fx4 decals

After these pics the tailgate was replaced so it could go into paint and some warn premium hubs were installed to replace the sticking auto hubs (had vac leak so auto didn’t work)

Decided to try out an aftermarket radio again with a minor theft deterrent also

Then came some new style fender badges that installed just like factory with the alignment hole matching and all

That brings us to last night when this showed up

Deconstructed and cleaned

To be installed soon. Should have more updates soon and guess will use this thread for those also. Paint should be done this coming weekend.

Truck looks great man. Awesome scores on the replacement parts to make it happen. Just curious though, why not fix the vacuum leak for the hubs?

Console might make it in the truck tomorrow spent tonight getting new couches. I had the chance to trade plus cash for amps but if the truck was leveled or lifted it would havevworked. Stock height lik this the weren't gonna look right

Thanks. The stock auto hubs were sticking also and the vac leaks happen often. Plus one ford hub costs what the pairvof warns cost me and the warns are better quality

I guess no lift is in the future? That '08 tailgate is gonna look great! I really like how the08-10 tailgates look on 03-07 superduties.

not for now. too many lifted SD's out there haha. rear block is due to come out of this one soon also. if it was a long bed it would have already been leveled on 35"s for sure though.

im ready for my gate to be back since after having it the 99-07 gate looks so out of place
