A 350 lariat 4x4 diesel, with FX4 package so I could get the hill decent option.
5th wheel prep.
18's with 3.31's
I was going to get the metallic bronze, but they won't give the wheel lip moldings unless the two tone option selected and I wasn't thrilled with the only option of pale adobe for the two tone.
So I got the pearl blue with sterling grey.

My 06 had 3.73's with "X" amount of HP/torque, my 09 has 3.55's with more hp/torque than the 06....5ver pulls fine. 12500lbs
The 2012 has 3.31's with even more hp/torque than 2009.
I doubted the 2006-2009 transition and it turned out fine. I'm hoping for the same power ratio to work out again.
I drive about 25k miles/year and pull the trailer maybe 4 times... I'm after better daily mpg's vs better towing.
There is a thread here about it http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fu...d/25370449.cfm

your right I haven't driven one. and I know the 6.7 is a torque monster.
so is my 6.0 with only 570 tq....and yet...it has 3.73 gears and 4.30 were optional.
I've seen manufacturers use high gearsets in the past and the aftermarket is full of companies fixing that mistake with low gearsets. I hope the truck operates just fine with those 3.31 gears. From reading your link, they mostly agreed with me. Other than the fact that the 3.31 gears are so minimal difference from the 3.55 that there is no reason to not get the 3.55's
My major concern is about take-off and low speed tow/haul when the turboo isn't really spooled and you're tugging 10k+ behind you while at low boost.

Turns out it is a little on the high side, but easily livable when towing. And to keep that motor from reving above 2k rpms (where it loves to slurp diesel), my 2 hours of daily hwy driving was doing a little better on mpg's. (but the regen would kill it)
Now if this new motor is "better on fuel" and I'm even farther below 2k rpm's, then multiplied by 4 years, I gotta be saving some bucks on fuel.
It hurts forking out 1200-1500/mth CAD on diesel.
