Will i pass warranty work?

Im taking my 06 F250 6.0L in on wed to Ford to get the FICM and some injectors replaced under the 100K powertrain warranty. All i can done to the engine is and Straight pipe exhaust stack with a cat/muffler delete. Surely for the things im having replaced that wont void my warranty will it?

I would say it depends a lot on how your dealer feels about modifications. For instance the dealer I bought my truck hated modified vehicles and would throw you under the bus for just going one size bigger in tires... A dealer in the next town over likes to look at modified trucks, tells you they will take care of you then slams you with a bill after the fact... The last dealer around here is super friendly to modified vehicles, but they won't break their neck trying to help you out.

If it has not had a programmer on it I would think it should be fine, but diesels are a whole other animal for warranty work, so I'm told..

It comes down to the discretion of the tech working on your truck, most guys will turn the other cheek over an intake/exhaust. But with that huge stack its hard to say. In this economy work is work and any half descent diesel tech will know that your exhaust is only helping the truck...but try telling that to Ford or the service manager for that matter. Its a roll of the dice man

You need to find a dealer like mine I know of at least 8 modified diesels that are serviced there and there a couple that go down the drag strip on weekends. The service manager asks if I have chipped my truck yet everytime I see him. I would just talk to some diesel guys around your area and see which dealer is mod friendly.

Be sure to tell them that if they don't warranty it, then you're going to have it fixed at a diesel shop and not the dealer.

Most dealers that I know would tell you to go ahead and do that, and I've driven a 6.0L across the country multiple times so I've been to alot of dealers. Though if they're not a mod friendly dealer and they have your VIN and know it was modded they can void your warranty without the truck being in there for service.

ive found that it depends on the dealer. some are 100% ok with mods. others will void you for not having them rotate your tires
