The DEF fluid is for the 2011+ 6.7 motors, not the 2008-2010 6.4s...

A lot of people doing the Spartan tune and delete pipe are seeing 17-20 MPG. The delete pipe and tuner are completely reversible, so I don't see that being a big issue. Just be ready to fork over about $1200 for the tuner and pipe.

It's next on my list. I average about 13 MPG, so it's not really about the fuel mileage. It's more about the fact that from what I have heard, the emissions systems on these trucks actually cause most of the problems that people have with the 6.4l engine.

seen two 6.4 in the past week blow turbos from lack of maintenance. the oil supply for the turbo got clogged and burnt up the highside turbo on both. completely stock trucks though.

I realize that...just seeing if it were possible to swap the newer technology into our 08 trucks to get better mileage and keep in legal.

Here's the fun thing with federal emissions certification, the hardware has to stay the same. Even if you put something on that makes the emissions better, you can get screwed if any of the as certified equipment is removed.
