And that's only 2 grand. So you spend $7k extra on the engine, plus another $2k and a voided warranty later you have a decent diesel. That's why I bought a V10. $9k buys a LOT of gas.

while the power is better, my 6.0 stock wont beat a 5.4 in a race.

sure a straight axle is more capable offroad, but on a huge truck its not going to fit any where on a trail

im assuming you have a 4.6 since you said no supercharger is available? with a tune you will rape a stock 5.4 with my 35s and a tune and intake i would keep up besides my low end. talk to tarajame about a supercharger, he knows what you need to make it work, i think he said everything is pretty much bolt on besides a few fabrications which any good performance shop should be able to do and make work.

Its. 5.4, and roush doesn't have a supercharger for the 2009. They said 2008 won't work.

How much oil does the V10 hold? Is the oil filter in same location as 5.4? Lastly, how often is fuel filter changed and where is it?

Our Super Duty has a V10 with 4.30 gears. I think the best we EVER got out of it since 01 was 12 mpg. Usually it is around 10mpg.

I give my 4:30 geared V10 a huge

Ordered it in Aug '05 - it's had no issues and does great in mud and sand considering the tires. It's light when off roading and nimble considering it's size ('only' weighs 7100 lbs) The '09 version is the same 3V version.

Given the choice, would an 09 supercab V10 auto be a wiser decision than a 09 diesel reg cab 6 speed manual?

I test drove a 09 v10 350.

I personally didn't feel it had all that much power that some people believe.

If it pushed the power that it does, and weighed less, It would be better, but being the truck weighs so friggin much, it really seemed to lack the omph you'd think it would have.

The only one that can deside that is you. Depends on your needs obviously.

If you plan on buying it and leaving the engine stock, then buy the V10. If you plan on modding it to get massive power from the engine, get the diesel. With nothing more than a Spartan tune, DPF delete, CAI, and exhaust, you can easily get 600 hp and 1000 lb-ft of torque to the ground with the diesel.

Hmmm - musta been a 3:73 rear or less - the 4:10+ versions edge out the F150's in a 1/4 mi drag...

it seems the old 2v v10s get worse gas mileage then the 3v.. does that seem to be true?

well JDM has supercharged an '09 truck and a Raptor already, all you cookie cutter "hot rodders" need to sack up...

honestly, the superduty will probaby cost more in inusrance, plus the loss of 4 grand on the trade in, I'd keep the F-150 and re-gear it, add e-fans, rear sway bar and enjoy it, but if you want the extra room and are looking for more power stock then get the V-10, I miss my V-10 and I will be getting another one when I get back from Germany (add a lil' boost and we'll see how it tows)...
