I didn't want to throw that in there. I got $5000 back, so yes that more than offset the 0%. You're going to pay, one way or the other.

Actually, I have just been debating to see where it would go. NCSU, you are correct, in that you could earn that and I do not recover it. I thought you would give up and I could switch sides.

Thanks. He's on my ignore list now, so I can't see anything he says. I should have done it a long time ago. I'm glad to see that there are others here who agree that the only difference between paying cash and making payments at 0% interest is that when doing the latter, you get to hold onto your money and pay a little bit at a time.

I did that 0 percent thing a couple of times. Didnt make much
in interest. On a Avalanche put the 40K balance
in a interest bearing account, had the payments auto withdrawal.

With the balance going down every month it finally was hardly
noticeable. Way to look at it was a few dollars better than zero ?

since than,, the vehicles purchased havent had a 0 deal so just paid
cash.

Fight fight fight fight fight! Woohooo! I paid cash straight up for mine. Then dropped it off at 4wheelparts on the way home...paid cash there also. The dealer was amazed that a 26 year old could not only buy a 250 but pay cash for it. I am stoked and I love my truck!

I was wondering about this while reading thru all the bickering.

I'm sure there's also those that dipped into their imaginary $40K for emergencies or whatever during their free loan.

I went through Citibank for my loans, any that were eligible for federal consolidation are at 2.6%

The rest are at 4.12%
