Got my 2009
I picked up my 09 F250 6.4 Lariat Crew yesterday.
I sure hope the milage gets better!!
It's a lot worse than my 06 was.
It sure is a quiet truck!
And the interior looks way better than the 06 did.
I noticed the 2008 TBC still had the read out on the unit itself. The 09 has the read out in the message center.
The reverse cam is awsome for hooking up trailers....worth the money.
Ford was offering spray in bed liner when I ordered, but they have removed that option, and I had to pony up more $$ for Line X to do it through the dealer.
I don't think that is right, I already had signed the papers and put down a deposit.
Something to watch out for.... One dealer, that was pricing my truck, was charging extra for the optional auto 5 speed tranny with the diesel. The tranny is no cost with a Lariat.
Even Ford.com "build and price" is adding the extra for the tranny, when the option is chosen.

Enjoy...though I hate to admit the newer interior looks more gimmicky and less truck-like than the '07 and prior. Just a personal preference...

It might just be, to me, my new interior color. The 06 I had was just blah grey everywhere.
It will soon look like a truck though, when the work crew gets in there (it's my work truck)

You were charged extra for the 5 speed auto because the 6 speed manual ZF6 is STILL the standard transmission on the Lariat trucks (thank God).

I don't know what they do if you want the manual...rebate..???
I'm getting around 4-5 mpg less with the 6.4 than my old 6.0.
Plus the truck is 800lbs heavier.
Shouldn't Ford be going the other way??

Amen to that! I really hate the older interior in the pre-08 trucks. It didn't look dated to me until I rode in an 04 F150 though.
The 08 has the TBC readout on the message center. Only the gain adjustment is on the TBC itself.

And the mileage is a few MPG's worse with the 6.4. Price you gotta pay for being "greener" I guess.
