Which Lift Fabtech or BDS?? 4" or 6"
A buddy of mine is ready to lift his 2004 6.0 diesel 4x4. I honestly don't know much about the lifts for these trucks. He is only thinking about going with a 4" lift but I keep telling him he will regret it and just go for the 6" right away. He has it narrowed down to a Fabtech or BDS lift but still can't decide 4" or 6". I guess the fabtech lift is actually a 3.5" or 5.5". Any recommendations that I can forward to him for his final decision on these trucks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time-
One more quick question - can he keep his stock 16" wheels after the truck is lifted? If so, what is the biggest tire he can run on the stock wheel??

Solid axle. so yes stock rims will work. The height thing is preference, but there is no real benefit to a 3.5 or 4 inch lift. I'm pretty sure any tires you can run on that you can fit on a stock truck, the limit with those lifts being 35 inch tires. Other than that, its personal preference.
Thanks for the reply. He did decide on the 5.5" fabtech lift. Not sure which tires yet....still deciding I guess. I will take pictures during the process of getting it installed. Should be sometime this week I believe.
