Seriously though, trucks should be 4.10 or "lower" meaning 4.88, etc...a truck has no business being a 3.55 or 3.73 lol

But...Yeah, I wasn't entirely wrong either. This 3:55 thing just started with the Job 2's. No flame here.
I guess you could leave it in 4 wheel drive all the time, but I usually only use it at intersections or steep hills. I don't like leaving the truck in 4wd going much over 30mph, so I normally just use it at intersections to get going and going up steeper inclines at slower speeds. Not sure with these trucks if it is a bad idea to cruise along at highway speeds in 4wd.
Screw-Me-05, thanks for that link!
That is something I considered doing, but it'll be down the road a ways.

I concur... Ive gone way over 80 in 4x4, lol... I know that says alot about my driving....but hey, what can you do? Slow drivers make me drive fast. 30mph in a 55 doesnt fly with me and my 4x4 f250, snow never slows me down - that means I MUST pass every car in front of me to maintain my desired speed.... lmao
Plus on the older vehicles it had warnings about speed...and dumb toyotas have it... but Ford would say dont do it if u shouldnt.... just dont switch TO 4x4 over 55...

LOL do you mean like when u r doin a burn out? lol That would be funny, 1st gear 5000 rpm smokin tires and flip to 4x4... DAMN! lol
Being from Fairbanks, I drive in some of the worst winter conditions for well over 5 months out of the year. I hardly ever use 4wd because if you are going over a certain speed (say 30mph) there is no need for it. Your momentum is built up. I drive 60-70mph on ice all the time.
I probably drive this way from habit. When I first started driving, there were warnings from the manufacturers regarding driving at highway speeds in 4wd, so I would always take it out. I didn't know if those issues are still there with the newer vehicles.
OUCH!

There are no issues with highway speeds in the newer vehicles.... My 2001 Toyota 4x4 told me not to over 55mph, but I did all the time. I would ASSUME that my straight axle can handle much more than the crappy cv shafts
of a jap mobile.....but I could be wrong.... but I KNOW that there are no more warnings with the speed except shifting INTO 4x4.ABout the 2wd thing.... if u hit some nasty slush that pulls left and right and u are heavy on the pedal, the truck will come around....I know. So I use 4x4 in slush and ice but in deep snow (1-2 ft) I use 2wd because you are held in pretty good making ruts in the snow......but over 2ft its def 4x4 time!
I really dont feel so safe on back roads in 4x2 in the slush when the shoulder andright portion of the lane are not plowed and I have ppl coming over the center line and Im off in the crap in 4x2.... Just my opinion...
