Up lifter power....

I modified the wiring a little then ran down the frame with it. They work. They are bright enough to see better but not bright enough to blind anyone either, however, I have them pointed down somewhat too. Was thinking of getting another set to put under the bed rails for my truck bed.

I have them on my truck, and am very pleased.
On a side note, are these switches able to be put into the older trucks? IIRC the switches are molded into one of the dash panels. Is this a panel that could easily be swapped out or is it more in depth than that? I can't picture exactly how those switches are in place but it sure would be nice to have an OEM looking setup in my 02..

Question: where did you run the power for these? How did you get through the bed?
Also, do you know how many amps they draw?

I'm not sure about the amperage. There were no instructions or info with them. Each strand has four pods, each pod has six LED's. I have both strands tied to the same switch. I neglected to add an inline fuse when I installed them, but will probably do that in the spring.

Noticed i never answer this question....per your note, this was not the case with my truck. Those wires must not have been run be we tried using those in the engine area and they had no power....the ones behind the fuse block inside the cab are the ones that had power.
Strange eh?
Ok, so this weekend I wanted to mount my non factory fog lights and too found 4 wires behind the brake booster that had no power that I was sure were the upfitter wires. I did tear out the fuse box in the glove box to see if there were fuses in but didn't feel like tracing the wires. I gave up and used the switch that came with the fog lights since the truck had to be dropped of for the goose neck hitch install today. I think I'll go back and trace the wires from the fuse box like RR did. Wondering if anyone else had this problem, looks like the switches were factory installed.

The wires you are looking for are behind the fuse box mounted under the steering wheel. Take of the cover under the steering wheel, then I believe there are three bolts holding the fuse box. Remove bolts, pull fuse box out a little, the wires should be blunt cut and taped to on of the wire bundles.

ok. I'll give that a look. I didn't think to look at the fuse box under the steering wheel. TIA
